Looks like Fox to my eyes. You can see the front resi is mounted vertically. Icon is mounted at a bit of a tilt. Also the rear resi loos like it's mounted piggy back style. Most likely a Fox 2.0 with resi in the rear. I mean if it's clean, no accidents, clean underneath seems like a good deal to me.

I agree, I'd jump on this if everything checks out, and you can verify that the suspension was installed professionally. I think it's fair to say that the lift setup cost the previous owner a few grand, and it's practically brand new. Whether it's Icon or Fox, that's a high-end setup either way. If you were planning on modding, you'll be getting a high $$$ mod for pennies on the dollar.
Of course, if you don't care about that, then you should probably pass. These aftermarket parts will require ongoing maintenance, and probably aren't ideal for someone who never intends to take it off road.

This is where my point lies. I have zero interest in a lifted vehicle, so the plan would be to return it to stock and potentially sell off the suspension lift. The idea of sinking $1k or so into a vehicle that is basically brand new to get it back to stock is my holdup.

That's true, especially for a NE car. If it's a TC Uniball it'll likely squeak like crazy with the salt. I would be sure to grease the uniball frequently and hit parts of the suspension and undercarriage with fluid film in winter to protect it. You could probably run the fox factory for 50-75k mi and then dump them after that for something more OEM if you choose. Either way a TRD ORP, with a good/proper aftermarket lift, heritage grill with 4k mileage on the odo for that price is a really good deal if the background/history checks out.

Have you considered looking for an SR5 Premium instead? The model you're eyeing has some offroad features that come with a markup. You can get an SR5 that is virtually the same, minus a couple of offroad features (and a fake hood scoop).
That said, finding stock 4runner suspension that is brand new is really easy, since most people do the opposite of what you're proposing. I have my stock parts in the garage, I would give them away for free. Like you said, the labor would probably cost up to 1K if you don't swap it out yourself. But you would make that back on selling the aftermarket stuff easily. The obvious downside is the hassle of dealing with it.

Looks like a good deal. I’m assuming this dealer is just clueless seeing as it’s listed as an SR5 when it literally says the trim on the side of the vehicle. I paid 39 for mine new without $2k fox shocks.

Many of us here modify the suspension (lift the vehicle). The key is HOW WAS IT DONE & HOW WAS THE VEHICLE USED.
3" is right at the mark where it is recommended to change the UCAs and drop the differential. I used the Eibach Pro Truck Kit and their lift is stated 2.75" front and 1" rear. Being that the difference is .25" (who could seriously tell a .25 inch difference (except possibly members of the opposite sex )), I checked with Eibach and they stated 90% of their customers DO NOT replace the UCAs or drop the diff.
This will get to the how was it used. My 4Runner is used around town and someday i hope to get it on an 'easy' trail here in AZ. If I wheeled the heck out of 3 weekends a month, I would have done the UCAs.
I achieved what i was looking for from the pro truck lift kit: better stance, slightly firmer ride, no brake dive, all around better handling.
That said, i would not buy ANY vehicle if I could not test drive it and given it's a lifted 4Runner I'd want a serious test drive. Lastly having the stock wheels is not necessarily a bad thing as it will allow you to eventually pick your own wheels.
FWIW, before i got my 2018 SR5 prem, I test drove a 2017 limited that had been lifted. The vehicle bounced and bobbed over every bump, stop and start. Between that and the JBL (just barely listenable) sound system, I told the dealer to keep it.

Vehicle Specification | Toyota Owners
It's a TRD Off Road Premium, according to Toyota, BTW.
With KDSS.

If it drove well and visually looked okay, I would say that seems like a solid buy, compared to spacers. You just just swap tires and have a great looking rig!

It's not a SR5, it has a manual transfer case

Yes. The poster was pointing out that the dealer has it listed as an SR5.

Because that's the first thing that comes up is an SR5 when you carfax it. Toyota has it as a TRD Off Road Premium with KDSS, so the previous owner put a TRD Pro grille on it along with the lift, I'm guessing? Altho I've seen some dealers do it as well.
If that lift is well-installed, it's a pretty good deal. Dealer don't know what they have.

Been looking at the CPO market for a few months now, even before the virus hit. SR5 Premiums and TRD ORP are selling at nearly the same prices currently. And I'd much rather have the (seemingly) long-term value upside of the TRD than the SR5.
And I'm not saying I won't ever take it off-road, I just have no need/want for a lift as I don't do anything that a stock 4R wouldn't be able to handle. I'd also rather have a manual (ish) transfer case and rear locker.
And 4Runners just look better with a (fake) hood scoop, regardless.
I'm going to see if there's any paperwork/receipts from the work and go from there.

Well, if that's the trim you want, then I'd recommend going for it. Appears to be a good deal. If you do end up going through the trouble of swapping suspension, you should at least wind up with some extra cash in your pocket after selling.
I would highly recommend test driving a stock runner and this one, back to back. You may find that you like how the modified one handles. Though it looks like this one is equipped with KDSS, so road manners should be pretty good in stock form anyway.

The longer you think the faster someone else will buy it.
Toyota's don't last long here and a lifted one with low miles would of been gone yesterday.

So just to update, I pulled the trigger on another 4R. I didn't hear back on the black one, and another 2017 I'd had my eye on dropped to a price I couldn't resist.
It's a 2017 ORP with Sunroof and 45k, and just dropped to $30.6k as a CPO. It was dealer maintained and was bought in the Albany area and stayed there.
Should be the proud owner of a '17 Nautical Blue ORP next week!
