Will your vehicle and your gear be ready to hit the trails?

This pandemic should be leveling off soon. Officials will start lifting travel restrictions. Public places will once again be open for exploring. And we will be itching to go.

With extra time on my hands, I decided to look at all the stuff I carry in my T4. I found a few surprises, replaced or removed a few things. Found my 5 year + old can of fix a flat and tire plug kit. Made me wonder if the propellent and tire plug glue will still work. Let me know your thoughts on replacing these.

I have been reorganizing all my gear in the back but decided to take it all out to vacuum all the yearly-accumulated dust/dirt. Super clean in the back and ready to hit the trail again!

Regarding the tire repair kit, hmm five years seems old for the propellant... not sure though. If you want to replace it, I can recommend the UTP kit. Nice and small. https://www.4x4training.com/w/produc...re-repair-kit/

@SpeedyKevin - I like the kit you suggested from Badlands Off Road Adventures. Since you know them, you probably recognized part of my message was taken from Tom Severin's recent message. I also noticed you used part of his message text in your reply.

Before we escaped SoCal, my son and I took Tom's Sand Driving Clinic at Oceano. It was an outstanding training and experience. Tom had us run the bowl, great experience in my son's Silverado.

Throw those tire plugs away. I had the same kit and decided to finally try it out when my wife’s soft snow tire picked up a nail, the plug ripped in half before it even get in the tire.

I use the Boulder Tools heavy duty tire repair kit now. Brown plugs or don’t bother!

Haha yea, his previous email got me thinking about cleaning up the rear! I took his Offroad basics course and tire repair/hilift course. I brought a new hilift to that course and wont lie, I was iffy (back then) about scratching it up. He made sure that hilift was well used during the course. All I can say now is that I'm proficient in using the hilift and am not afraid to scratch it up anymore haha.

Great guy and he sure knows his stuff. Also signed up for the winching course so looking forward to that.
