The 285s are on and no rubbing. I’ll test them out on the trail later this afternoon.

I did go with P rated tires this time as I don’t need 10 ply tires. The 275s were LT.

Toyo Open Country A/T on Mickey Thompson "Deegan 38" wheels. They were on the truck when I bought it.
At full lock they barely kissed the fender liners, really wasn't an issue. But I did the mod anyway. I almost used a heat gun to push in the nub where they rubbed.
Mudflaps are still intact. Contact hasn't exceeded flex, yet.

Interested in hearing about the ride quality difference as I have E rated 275’s and my C rated 285/75-16’s on my 2001 Runner rode nicer. Also, would like to see some comparison pics.

Here are a few pics of the tires side by side. The tread depth is smaller in the P rated 285s but they're really quiet and the weight feels about the same as the LT275s.

For some reason I cannot upload pics right now.

The 275 vs 285 vs tall skinnies is where I'm currently at as well. I wonder though, why is it that everyone says you "might" need to do a BMC? Aren't these trucks pretty much all the same, and tire brands sizing only varies typically by a few tenths?

If 285s really are that close to everything, running them probably isn't the best idea? Heaven forbid you hit a pothole and rip your fender out because your suspension compressed a few inches.

Running C load rated 285 KO2s that were Jeep takeoffs. The 116Qs only weigh 50 pounds and balance a lot easier. Tucked under a 2.5”/2” lift. No rub, not even close to hitting the body mount.

That’s what I would like to run after my 275 KO2’s E rated tires (57 lbs.) get a bit more worn. How’s the ride quality?

I’ve been really happy with suspension and tires. Don’t notice a ton of road noise, tracks straight, no issues in rain. Have them set to 38 psi.

I think a lot of it has to do with wheel width/offset choices. The greater of either, the greater the likelihood of rubbing, and at varying extents.
