Should I step up to a 285/70/17?
So a few weeks ago I had a lift and tires installed. I went with the Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws in 275/70/17 and I’m regretting not getting a larger tire.
Edit-285s were ordered. Install is 10:30 tomorrow.

Looks pretty good to me. Why not wear those tires out and then decide if you want to upgrade?

I will be keeping the tires and installing them on my limited once I get wheels for it.

Glad I'm not the only one. Same situation installed Kings with 275s. In the process of ordering 285s at the moment.

I have until 2pm today to pull the trigger so they can be installed in the morning.
Any idea how much bigger the sidewall is on the 285 vs 275?
I’m open to a skinny tire with more sidewall if anyone has any suggestions.

Sounds like you have a back up plan for your 275’s so I would say go ahead get the 285’s or it will just keep chipping away in the back corner of your mind. I knew this going from 265 to 285. I originally thought about 275 but skipped it and went straight to 285 and I’m glad I did. With that said, theres nothing wrong with 275’s but it wasn’t the overall look I wanted to achieve on my rig. Everyone’s personal taste and use for their own rig is different. YMMV

285's in some brands such as Cooper (current tire) weigh the same as 275's in the popular KO2 choice, 55lbs.
Ride like glass and love them.

Here is a clip from my tire decision excel document!
275- diameter 32.4
285- diameter 32.8
255/80 would be a good choice for you - 33.1

You do realize that with 285's you'll have to do a fender liner mod, may have to remove mudflaps, and could possibly need a body mount chop?

275s look fab! But I do get the draw toward the 285s!

I would say yes to going 285, but like a few people said, I would recommend you wearing out those tires before going 285s.
