About 10 years ago a group of engineers at work had this debate. So we decided to settle it. We wired up two identical rental cars with Type T thermocouples and data logging equipment and parked them under the hot summer sun on a back lot at the plant. The dark car got hotter faster, but topped off at the same temperature as the lighter car. We duplicated the same test with tinted vs. non-tinted windows. Same thing. The tinted car heated up slower, but eventually reached the same internal temp as the non-tinted car.
Autotrader - car color test

Other tests have shown that dark cars are measurably hotter. They heat up faster, get hotter and cool down slower than lighter colors.

Ivan Stewart stripes look great! Any plans for the front stripes? Very cool!

That's not the results we got. Heat up faster? Yes. Cool down slower? Yes. Got hotter? Not so much. If memory serves they were only 3-4 degrees apart.

I really can't comment on the video you posted, because they didn't provide any detail about their test setup. I will make a couple of observations though... a Limited has a leather interior, the Pro does not. The Limited may also have had 3rd row seats. Both factors would make for a significantly different thermal absorption and emissivity profile.

A couple is degrees isn't a factor and I believe the number one fact as to why the heat thing doesn't even really matter..... I DON'T LIVE IN VEGAS! It's true those that live in the lower continental US get a more intense sun than those who live up North. So with all that being said my roof should be fine. I think Myth Busters did a episode on this test. From what I can remember the result were close to the same. I’ll have to watch it again.

My Pro has synthetic leather, black in color. The backs of my wife's thighs tell me it's indistinguishable from leather ;)

Nope.....But I guess I value life far too much to sit in front of a computer and argue about a couple of degrees in Temperature.

It's cool. I've been sitting here on my ass for the past two months collecting government cheese. I've got, literally, nothing better to do.

dang that looks good, the blue is such a nice color.

White would've looked terrible, get outta here boomer. If it's hot, it's hot, color of the car really doesn't matter especially if you live in arizona lol.

This color is starting to grow onto me.
That looks super clean.
