KO2 vs. wet pavement

People from rainy places with KO2s: how bad are they on wet pavement vs the stock dueler?
I've just received my '21 OR with KDSS last week and wanted to put KO2, but now I hear bad things about their rain performance.
I'm going to be 90-95% pavement (weekend warrior ) and I live in the Vancouver, BC area

(Already ordered a set of 265/70/r17 rate C, but I'm thinking about cancelling it)

I would take Toyo AT3 or Wildpeaks P rated over KO2 if wet performance matters.

I've run all 3.

I also live in Vancouver (Coquitlam). Have KO2's on for approx 60,000kms now. No issues normal driving. Unless you are flooring it all the time you should be fine.

I live in Portland, OR where we get a lot of rain and I can't wait to swap these out. I hate them. Like @jcalvert86 said, I am going to go for AT3, Wildpeaks or Toyo's.

Another Vancouver member here. HIGHLY prefer my current Toyo AT3's over my previous KO2's for wet weather.

@Drizzie @jcalvert86 how is the Toyo or Falken off road? I see that none of them carry the 265/70/17 with load C, so it's either SL or E, and I wonder how the SL would be vs the stock ones.

I'm still on my stock Limited 20's so should point that out to you. My 4Runner only sees Forest Service Roads so I've not experienced any issues but I'm not really playing in the mud or anything either.

I’ve been running KO2’s for years on my Tacoma and now on my 4Runner. I love the tire, the look of the tire, and I’ve never had an issue in the rain with them. I also think they are great in snow. Ive tried other tires but I keep coming back to them.

LOL, how's that for consensus? You could see this coming from a mile away.

That said, no wet traction issues with my KO2 C loads.

I’ve had 265/70/r17 C-rated kO2 with no issues in torrential downpour.

My brother has the same vehicle and tires in E-rated and it was squirly for him in the rain.

Although decent when new, disappearing wet traction is what I've read also. To be fair, many E rated tires have such hard compounds they give away wet traction. (Insert discussion here how our 4Rs don't weigh as much as a one ton pickup so don't have the weight to make them work)

I’ve been using BFG all terrains for a couple of decades on various different vehicles and never had any issues with wet conditions.

Falken Wild Peak AT3 or Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus handle very well over dry and wet payment. I've run them both.
