Called procharger to see if the kit was ready to ship and I have to pull my ECU to send them the code and see if they have tuning available for it yet. However that’s only one of the issues here...they are waiting on a carb sticker for California which could take up to six months if I order the kit now without it they won’t be able to just send me stickers once it’s approved so basically I’ll have the same kit that’s not carb legal for smog in 6 years. However, removing the head unit isnt hard and I could yank it off to get smog then reinstall. Idk kinda annoying but I’ve done way more bs for smog for my cars in Cali haha. Hopefully will order kit Monday if tuning is gtg!

Yeah. I called the PC as well last week trying to get that kit for my 2018 TRDOP and they told me that everything was ready except Tuning. I asked when they going to get a Tune? By the and of June. Ok, I asked were you getting Tune from? From HP tuners . I’ve got a guy that does a lot business with Hp tuners, he called them and they said 5gen 4Runner tune will not going happen any time soon . And also PC tech told me that they have tuner for 2017, 2019,2020 except 2018.(what a BS). Good luck with your PC

Ahhh that sucks! So it sounds like they’re trying to BS about tuning to keep us on the hook? Idk he had me trying to get the code off my ecu so maybe he’s not bs’ing fully. If the tuning is done through HP tuners, technically anyone should be able to tune it with the software as long as HP themselves have unlocked/broken the code in the ECU. I’ll know soon and post my findings.

Pretty much. I mean, they trying to get Tune for 5th gen 4Runner in the order to sell their Kits, but they make it sound like it will be ready in couple weeks and according HPtuners they are not even close. Will see!

Looking good! I'm curious - have they given you a realistic (i.e. conservative) estimate on how much power/torque add you can expect to see with the new SC?

I think it was about 50% power increase over stock to around 400bhp iirc. More than most power adders available and I know prochargers pull like freight trains so it will be a very noticeable difference. You can run 8-10psi with the injectors that come with the kit on gasoline but would need more fuel and a ati crank dampener if you wanted to run e85 and turn it up anymore.

Seems like you would've been better off with a 2WD SR5 Premium if you wanted a fast, plain looking 4Runner.

Would've saved a ton of money and more importantly(in your case), weight. Plus, that transfer case isn't exactly helping you with getting the most power to the wheels. I'd understand if this was an offroad race build, but there's clearly no intent of going offroad either.... To each their own I guess. Have fun!

Well November was a bad month for the 4Runner...girl pulled out in front of me at 45 mph and every air bag went off inside the truck! It is officially totaled so that was unfortunate. Nobody seriously injured so that was good.
Have my original trd pro roof rack on the truck for 1 day in brand new condition with all bolts etc for sale now as well as a brand new unused spare tire. Local pickup in Sacramento area is preferred but can ship at buyers expense.

That is very sad news. But the good thing is nobody was hurt which is of top most importance. I was actually in search of a trd pro roof rack however. Dm me the details. Thanks.
