Really specific tire question, any pics of 255/75 17 on a 17x8.5 -12 offset?

Crunching the numbers to see if this setup will work for me. On paper it should.

Curious how it’s going to look.

If you have pics of -12 or mid - offset on 255/75s please share.

Thanks

What does “work for you” mean? No rubbing?

Given: stock wheels for SR5 and Off Road have a +15 offset and no rubbing with 265/70r17.

Given: TRD Pro wheels with a +4 offset move the outer edge of the same size tire outboard by 0.4 inches, and cutting/fender modification is required.

Using -12 offset wheels will push the tire 1.1 inches outboard of the SR5/Off Road wheels, and 0.62 inches outboard of the Pro wheels.

255’s are 0.4 inches narrower than the stock 265’s, so subtract 0.2 inches - 255’s on a -12 offset wheel will push the outer edge of the tire outboard 0.9 inches relative to an SR5 with stock wheels and tires, and 0.42 inches outboard relative to a PRO.

So “on paper” what it looks like to me is that if you are putting this wheel/ tire combo on a TRD Pro that has already had the fenders cut at the port it might work. If you are putting this combo on an SR5/OffRoad, you will need to do some trimming.

If anyone chimes in with contradictory empirical experience, take their advice and disregard mine, because it definitely falls within the realm of spitballing.
