New 20" Fuel Wheels - '15 TEP

It has been quite awhile since I posted on here. I decided, out of pure boredom, to replace my 20" Ballistic wheels and BFG tires with Fuel wheels and Nitto tires. I wanted something wider and more aggressive tire-wise, and like the look of the Fuel Maverick wheels. I got them put on about two weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Just thought I would share in case anyone is interested in how these wheels and tires look.

The wheels are 20x9 Fuel Mavericks with a -12mm offset.

The tires are 285/55-20 Nitto Trail Grapplers.

looks absolutely awesome.......great combo. Trying to figure out what tire/wheel combo I want for my GX 460-- leaning towards the KO2's right now, but not sure about the wheels/wheel size.

Yes thank you for posting! I've been wondering for a couple weeks now how the 20" blacked out wheels with an aggressive tire looks on the Trail. Perfect! how is that 9 inch rim working? Please post some info on your rig! things like
- All lift information (lift height, company, style, Aftermarket UCAs etc.)
- Wheel well mods (we know you had to do something to fit 285's unless you were just one of the "lucky ones" )
- Do you have any rubbing and or have you had it at full lock or flexed?
- Were there any changes in ride characteristics when you went from what I assume was stock before to your BFG's on 20"s to Nitto on 20's? (MPG, ride harshness, breaking etc.)

Awesome rig!
EDIT: Just saw that you were in NC, I'm in Cullowhee, is Cherokee Indian Reservation the Cherokee near me?

Sorry for the delay in response. It has been awhile since I was last on here. My lift is a 3" Rough Country lift.

Thank you, out of the four 4Runner's I've owned, this one is definitely my favorite. And yes, I live in Cherokee, about 30 minutes from Cullowhee, my home is backed up against the national park.

My lift is a 3" Rough Country lift. It is just the blocks, not a full suspension lift, although I am looking to change that soon for a smoother ride. I still have the original UCA's.
The only modification I've done in the wheel wells is removing the mud flaps. My tires do not rub at all when in forward motion but do rub in reverse with a hard turn. As far as flexing goes, I'm not really much into that so I haven't tested that out yet.
Moving from the BFG tires to the Nitto tires there was definitely a difference in road noise (which I don't mind much) but not much in terms of ride quality.

Awesome man! If you ever feel like it, I'd be up for a meet up one weekend to see it in person. Otherwise enjoy! glad to know that 9" rims don't cause too much issue. when you are in reverse and full lock, what is rubbing and where, if you know?

Yeah, I'd be down. If you wanna send me your contact info or if you want mine I can send it to you in a message.

As far as the rubbing, it comes from the section where the mud flap is located. Obviously it's nowhere near as bad as when the mud flaps were on, but still there. I'm used to it now though so I know how far I can turn when backing up and rarely have rubbing unless I'm in a tight spot.

That looks so nice!! I'm not normally one to like silver but on certain cars it looks good, including this one!

Hi I have a 2018 4runner with those same fuel maverick 20 inch wheels in the pics at the top. I’m trying to switch to the trd pro wheels. I already bought them but I’m confused about the different offsets and backspacing differences. Will the trd pro wheels be fine when switching out the 20 inch fuel wheels? Obviously I’m gonna change the tire size but just on the stance of the truck and figment not sure if I will have to change anything or if the stance of the truck will look different.
