new 4runner owner
Got a 2013 limited 4runner with 43k miles in trade for my toyota venza which had 74k miles with damages and I got a good deal of 8.5k for it. I like it especially the back glass that rolls down . I turned of the running board option since I didn't need it but what does l4l, h4l, h4f mean? As mention I just got it so please let me know. Which setting do I put for mostly pavement driving?

@ iseeu1001
-- Congratulations, enjoy that 4Runner. My 2013 has been trouble free and has been on a lot of trails.
We all know what a 4Runner looks like but ---
:
Photo with dirt or sand under it.
The attached PDF has good info starting on page 25 about that funny knob near the shifter.

Thanks I love my new to me 4Runner I meant 5/16 and not 4/16 at last shot as I was excited. Big move from Venza for sure and I made lots of memory in that car. YouTube they had transferred my old tags so I didn’t need tags. Before anyone says you need to blur out your license plate, everyone already see it and your average joe can’t pull anything from it. I wrote this from my phone so no photos until I get home.

do you think I need an extended warranty on it? I never used my extended warranty on my venza either but that isn't technically advanced as this 4runner because it doesn't have the 4WD system. I bought the extended warranty for 4 years up to 90k miles for 1.3k. Currently car has 44k miles.

In my personal opinion, the reason why you buy an actual Japan assembled car like the T4R is so that you don't need one.

You think I should just cancel my warranty because my car is note is 21k but what if the 4WD system messes up? I don't know much bout 4WD because this is my first. Do you think ill be fine without the warranty? As far as I know, you need to make sure the tire threads line up so wheel rotation ever oil change and to make sure to buy 4 wheels when your tire pops even just one and not have miss match tires.

I don't think Toyota will sell a factory warranty after 3 years or 36K miles.
Many have had problems me included with third party warranties and I would not get one. I did get the Toyota Platinum zero deductible with mine and it expired unused after 7 years.

I can promise you that you won't have to buy 4 matching tires if you destroy one and "messing up the 4x4" will probably be the last of your problems if you ever had to invoke a warranty claim. You have a 2013 so door locks are going to haunt you at some point.
I have never seen a third party allow you to "cancel" a warranty, you just get a check for the prorated remainder of the warranty and they usually screw you over on the percentage.

So should I cancel or not? It is a Toyota extended warranty and I have had the extended warranty on my Venza but only used it once and it would have costed me over the price of the warranty. I don’t know if I need it for the 4Runner or not. 1.3k is a whole lot of money.

cancel it
oh and the 4runner is definitely not as advanced as the venza.. the transmission is a dinosaur of a 5 speed transmission and the 4.0l from 20 years ago.. there's nothing advanced about the 4runner... its simplicity is its reliability.. heck we dont even get auto headlights!!
oh and the 4 matching wheels bull... that's just a tire salesmen bullshit

Why do car companies make it so difficult to change a light bulb? It takes me about a good 5-15 minutes to change a light bulb and my hand has scraps and cuts just from changing a simple thing as a light bulb. It was the same thing with my Venza and now this 4Runner. You can never win.
