On any roof rack is it worth getting the basket style or the flat style rack? I will not be parking inside the garage as its packed full of shit.

Also I remember seeing a rear camera extension for people with a rear bumper. I need to get something to be able to use the rear camera.

Not looking to start a kerfuffle here,

I thought the rule of thumb was 3". I'm asking because before had the Eibach pro truck kit put on I researched this to the point of nauseum. Everybody said 3". Right now i have no rubbing, at full lock (forward and reverse). Also, this might factor in, my Wildpeaks are 265/70 17.

KC are good. I had a chance to hang at their AZ location. Great quality. It comes down to the style you like. I use Rigid b/c they are good quality and I like the way they look/meet my need size wise. Baja are really good. I have heard good things about Caliraised, but never used. If you want looks than go cheap. If you want long term function I would look at the brands mentioned above. Cheaper ones unfortunately will fog, get water inside, and fade over time. I’m in the buy once cry once camp. Also the sleep on the couch b/c I spend more time w/ my Runner than the wife camp.

What are you going to use it for? Both styles are able to perform similar functions with accessories, crossbars, mounts, etc. I like the flat rack function IRT rooftop tents and carrying kayaks. I also like the flat look more.
I have the Gobi Stealth and like the short sidewalls due to awning and lights. I prefer the stuff hanging on the side to be even w/ the top of the rack and when I strap boxes on top, but personal preference.
Think about if you want a mesh floor as well and light style you want if any.

This is the real question. What are your uses?

I have a basket that I bought second hand for $50. It holds my hi-lift, gas can, and whatever else I need to strap down up there. I did my own stylizing to make it look a little prettier.

If you need something that can hold a roof top tent, then you will need to go after an aftermarket replacement rack, which will cost considerably more.

It's a wide range, from my $50 basket up to $2000 full rack setups. Baskets work fine for what they are, but more versatility and capability will cost you. Prinsu, Gobi, Front Runner, Baja, SSO are all great brands that make good racks (use the search function!), but you'll probably be starting in the $1K range at least for those setups. Gobi is generally seen as the best looking and most popular rack, but price and lead times are killer.
