Not cost effective. The frame and lower control arms are different. If i was going to go down that path I think I would look at welding the mounting points on vs buying the toyota parts. Again, not cost effective, would be cheaper to get one with w/ KDSS and take the hit.
It could be done without a doubt but its not as easy just buying 1200$ in parts and bolting them on.

Anything is possible, but it's not realistic to add it.
You would save money buying one with it if that is what you really wanted.
One thing to note. For a moderate rig it seems to be a great option. If you ever plan to add long travel.... it will need to be removed. Also, if you plan to keep the truck for 15+ years (not sure many people do), it might eventually be expensive to repair.

Yup. LT in the rear, the track bar will run into the sway bar (even stock, at full droop it is very close). On the front, any LT LCAs won't have mounting points for the KDSS bar (not to mention custom lengthening the KDSS bar).

This is very true. My wife's 2006 GX470 with 89k miles has issues with the KDSS system. We were quoted $1500 to replace the rear cylinder and bleed the system. Just bleeding the KDSS system is about $500, and most places aren't equipped to work on that system.

HOLY CRAP! Glad I didn't get KDSS on mine. Was starting to second guess that decision, not so much now!

To be fair, the majority of that quote was replacing the insanely over-priced AVS Shocks on the GX...The KDSS system is cheap when compared to the AVS shocks, which each rear shock goes for about $600.
Yea my 4runner has a ton of body roll, but I will take that over having to repair super-expensive suspension systems down the road.

So if the KDSS system ever fails to the point of pricey repairs, you simply take it off (and maybe go the route of long travel). I guess I don't really get the issue.
If you buy the KDSS, you pay ~$1200. If you add on aftermarket gear right when you buy your truck, you spend that kinda dough anyway. If at 90K the KDSS poops the bed, you replace it with stuff you want. at 90K there's a good chance your aftermarket stuff would start showing its age too (as would the stock suspension)... Right?... And this may be a moot point -- the KDSS may not die.
For me, I'm cool with paying 1.3 cents a mile to enjoy the more level ride ($1200/90000 miles). And that cost goes down even more if it outlasts the 90K mark.
Kind of a Socratic conversation...

Only problem is you will live with the KDSS light "on" forever.

True enough. If it sits on long enough though, maybe it'll burn out?...
Or just get surgical and remove the light by pulling the instrument cluster. I've seen that done on past 3rd and 4th gens. Where there's a will, there's a way. You're an engineer -- you know this! ;)

Woah -- had to look that one up. Always learn something here.
Definition: "Socratic dialogue, ..... is the conversation that results from the Socratic method, a discussion process during which a facilitator promotes independent, reflective, and critical thinking".
