Just ordered the Boss Strongbox drawer...can't wait! Hey @Bronc do you have any recommendations for install? Looks like the drawer sits directly on the carpet right?

Yes, directly on the carpet. Its a really straightforward install. The turnbuckles help it self locate to the correct location. A 2nd person to help lift the box into the back is recommended.

Do you happen to know the weight limit for the top, I have a buddy of mine making a wood box for me. I might pay the parts out for him and buy this, I was hoping to use the top to place an inflatable bed on it.

Sorry, I do not. I would suspect the box portion would be fine, but a quick call to the company would probably be best. I would not want to put alot of weight on the wings though. They are simply held on with machine screws.

first post...finally something to add.

I bought one back in October. It has been great.

I have taken it off road. With a lot of vibration and bumps, the turnbuckles they provided would loosen up slightly and I got some squeeking after a few hours. I bought a set with locking nuts from E-Rigging.com and problem solved. Never loosened up again. No more squeeking.

I just bought, it looks good. I need something with a lock for all my camera gear anyways. Which type and size turnbuckles did you buy off e-rigging.

Squeaking Turnbuckles are driving me nuts with my Smittybuilt Vault. I have re-tighten them every couple days or they drive me insane.

Yesterday, tightened them by hand and then had to slam on the brakes - they started squeaking again!!!

I'll have to try some of those ones mentioned by SpaceBanana.

Welcome to E-Rigging.com - Your Online Source for Rope, Cable and Hardware

Looking at those, I wonder if adding 2 nuts to my hardware store turnbuckles would help stop the squeak? Going to try that 1st.

Great info on the turnbuckles @C3XOG
Please let us know the part number used. Did you just tighten them down until snug or put quite a bit of torque in them to finally stop the squeeking?

For those interested, remember to use code "Fieldcraft" for 25% off the box. I have no association with fieldcraft survival but heard it in their podcast and wanted to pass the savings along. Looks like a great storage box for the price especially with the discount. I would consider it but it's a bit too tall for my preference.

Thanks for the coupon! This was the only reason why i bought it. It covered the shipping and tax for me.

Or you could just make your own box for less than $100.

Ignorant comment. Not everyone has the necessary tools, knowledge, skill, and let alone time to make something close to a finished product like this.

Can anyone (who purchased and has installed) take a picture of the front of the box? (directly behind the rear seats) would like to see how I would build\attach a sleeping platform onto this box so I can easily remove when not in use. I'm planning on removing both rear seats and build a sleeping platform that could utilize this box. Hope that makes sense.
