I haven't received mine yet its on the truck but couldn't you build a block of some sort that will prevent the box to shift forward?

I added a 'tension nut' to the existing turnbuckles. It's like a nylon nut minus the nylon insert.

I bought one back in October. It has been great.

I have taken it off road. With a lot of vibration and bumps, the turnbuckles they provided would loosen up slightly and I got some squeeking after a few hours. I bought a set with locking nuts from E-Rigging.com and problem solved. Never loosened up again. No more squeeking.

Smart what size nuts are those? I need to do the same thing.

i went with M10 1.5 because my local home depot did not have nylon nuts in the correct size (3/8-16).

I'm replacing the turnbuckle bolt that connects to the box with an eyebolt and bought and new nylon nuts instead (3/8-16 thread through the turnbuckle perfectly). I'm going with an eyebolt because I'm using the molle side panels to attach a fire extinguisher so I don't want to get cut when I'm reaching in on the side.

Good install article. The Boss Box is BadA$$.

I installed my Boss Strongbox about a month ago and did have a small issue. The lock rods that are attached to the center knob got loose (just screwed in) and one fell out into the channel and was rattling around. This was the only indication something had "changed" as there was no rattles before! I removed the channel cover and re-installed it using Loctite. If you have or are getting one of these boxes you should probably check to make sure they are tight. Simple lock drawer while it is out of the box and see if you can turn the locking rods. easy enough to slightly unscrew and drop a drop of Loctite on the threads and re-tighten.

Also I installed a 3/4" high by 1.5" thick synthetic board the length of the Boss box between the rear of the box and the rear seat stop. This gives something secure for the box to go against.

Nice. I'm going to try and make a little platform that sits on top of the drawers when they're fully opened. I'll run the underside down the table saw to create grooves for the board to sit in so it can serve as a nice platform to food prep on.

The right side lock rod fell out on mine as well, installed loctite. I contacted the company and they said that they would start applying loctite to the rods and fasteners. Also, check the central bolt that holds the lock arm in place, mine was very loose.

This is a cool looking product. Lock nuts on the turnbuckle is a great tip.

Looks great, I saw the article on T4R. It’s what I’m looking for in a storage box, something that could be removed if needed for some reason but also well built.

Sadly I’ve got the stupid factory sliding tray so no luck there! Maybe they’ll have an option for a sliding tray in the future.

You can install the BSB with the sliding tray, it just won't slide anymore! The turnbuckles it comes with will extend that much further down and lock the box in place on top of the sliding tray.

If you throw a bolt on to the top and bottom of the turnbuckles, it prevents the turnbuckle from loosening up.
