Spare TPMS Question
I have a 2019 Offroad Premium. Does anyone know if the spare has TPMS?
Ordered 5 new tires to put on my new rims and ordered TPMS for them as well but not sure if I need a 5th.

Spare TPMS Question
You can program up to 5 tpms on the runner. My limited has 5 wheels and 5 tpms :-)
If it’s a real wheel, most likely it has tpms.

I've read conflicting information from Toyota that the Limited has them in the spare while no other trim does after 2017.

In my TRD OffRoad, it did not come with a tpms sensor in the spare tire.

Our 2013 SR5 has a steel rim for the spare and no TPMS. Not sure one would fit in that type of rim. The easy way to find out is to lower the spare and check. Good practice too.

Don’t think so, you can only program four sensors.

Id1 thru id5. It can handle up to 5 tpms. Just need to program it. Limiteds come with 5 from the factory.

My 2013 Trail has 5 slots available but you can only have 4 sensors programmed. Starting with the 2015 or 2016 Limited, 5 sensors were standard. All other trim levels only have 4 as I understand it.

How stupid is this? Don't put a sensor in the wheel that's the hardest to access and see. Model shouldn't make any difference. TPMS values should be displayed without having an external computer and software connected. Come on Toyota, even Chevy vans have easy to read TPMS!

I believe the tpms in all 5th gens are the same. Just saying the capability is there, but whether or not it’s used is another issue.

Thanks everyone. Dropped the tire last night and checked and nope. Was surprised to see it was just a steel wheel as well. My 4th Gen had rim on the spare.

Oh it’s there, no question about that. For whatever reason the system will not let you add the fifth sensor though.
