Review: Yota Club Window Vent

Review of Yota Club’s rear hatch window vent. Understand this product is not for everyone. There are positives and negatives that I will outline from my testing.

Toyota 4Runner 5th Gen Hatch Window Vent by Visual Autowerks | YOTA club

Positives:
-Easy to install. Just place it over the window and roll the window up. It will auto roll down a couple times, same as when you first install in channel vents. No damage to tint or window frame after removing.
-Nice fit. The double pane design wraps around the window tightly. No movement when driving. Did confirm the rear window vents will fit with in-channel smoker vents. No gaps when window is closed.
-No extra wind noise. I tried every window combo with the side windows and sunroof at highway speeds and city speeds. Did not notice any extra wind noise. Quieter than just rear window down to same position.
-Sturdy. The piece is well made and will stand up to some abuse. There is enough flex to fit on the window with no fear of breaking it. But strong enough that it won’t bend on its own.
-Good air flow. The air flow was as expected. Tested on a lovely 91 degree day in sunny FL. This will be a good product camping. Also see value in having air flow if you have dogs in the back that like to jump out. I like the design for when I’m parked at work. Will it keep a burglar out, no. But it is a little deterrent and will keep bugs out.
-Great Packaging. Shipped quickly for a custom product and was well packaged. No damage from the abuse of the mail carriers.
-Looks. Positive or Negative depending on personal style. There are custom options for this product (rivet color, mesh insert, TRD logo). It is your car, do what you want if it doesn’t endanger yourself or others on the road.

Negatives:
-Price. There are some nice write ups on here of people making a similar product from gutter covers. But this is a good option if you don’t want a DIY project.
-Vent hole size. Personal preference, I would like one large vent all the way across for camping. But the small holes are nice for the reasons stated above.
-Looks. This is completely personal. I’m not a big fan of the rivet look. But the black rivets do look nicer in person. Plus I don’t mind too much given the build quality.

These are just some of my observations. This is not for everyone, but a well made product for those who choose this product.

Thanks for posting. Looks promising. I'm going to order the back window version and see how it works. Better than the hand-sewn thing I've made for the sunroof, I suspect. I like the fact it will be ok to use even if rain.

Any potential to damage tint?
