4R brake pedal vs FJ brake pedal travel

Our 19 4R TRDORP seems to have WAY more travel before the brakes engage than our 11 FJC TRD does.
Anyone else have both and notice this?
I don't know if something is wrong with the 4R or its just normal.
Sort of annoying to switch back and forth driving the 2 they are so different.

I have noticed that. It feels like air in the lines. Especially with the fixed calipers that we have.

Could be brake pads. My brother's FJ feels more or less the same as mine.

As in they both have a long pedal activation or not?

Mine's a 2020, and I think it's okay. It's much better than my dad's Grand Cherokee where you barely touch the brakes and get whiplash because it's stopping so hard with such minimal input.

To be clear I'm not asking about brake performance that is fine. The question was about the long travel before it starts doing anything.

My wife has a 2019 and I have a 2020. There is a big difference in brake pedal travel. The 2019's pedal travel is alot further before the brakes start slowing the vehicle.

Not sure how anyone can be surpurise that different vehicles brake pedal feels different? My 2018 trd 4r different has a completely different brake pedal feel then my 08Tundra, 08 ZM bmw, 2016 m4 BMW or my old trusted 96 runner. Matter of fact I like the brake pedal long feel better than my 2016 m4.

2019 TRD ORP here as well with the same brake pedal travel. My other daily is a 99 Landcruiser...switching between the 2 can be alarming. I sometimes pre “pump” the 4Runner brake pedal because it seems to react better after. My buddies 19 is similar.

Try some braided lines. Prob going to be the easiest way to firm it up. Not sure if it will do much for travel.

Interesting - a couple of people have said the same the 20 is different, and more "normal".

Wonder what they changed...hmmm.
