There are magnetic armors out there but don't have experience with any.

As in literally like a glorified magnet you'd stick on your fridge?

If you want to protect your paint, don't drive off road.

I went full PPF with ceramic coating on top. Wasn't cheap but definitely helps on the trails. Went with Ceramic Pro Kavaca PPF then 2 coats of 9H.

Bring some tree trimmers and pruners to cut the bigger stuff. Takes time but worth it to me.

Really, what I am most concerned about is pinstriping from driving up narrow forestry roads where branches are virtually guaranteed to be scraping against the car.
Naturally, some form of paint protection around the rest of the body would be a huge bonus.
So I don't know if your "standard" paint protection option protects against something like this - obviously touching the car, pressure, scraping it sort of thing.
I've heard of 3M film, ceramic pro, possibly some others I can't remember. Really not sure what to pick - seems there are so many options and the pricing is all over the place!

I had the same question when I bought my 2018. I went to a shop in Vancouver offering 3M wraps but they said it wouldn't help much and recommended ceramic coating. I then went to a ceramic coating business and they recommended a wrap. So I got neither. No ideal solution for the encroaching alder we get around here.

Look up GOAT armor. Thick, removable magnetized plastic film that covers vulnerable parts. I haven’t tried yet but it looks interesting. You’d have to make sure your truck is immaculately clean before applying it. Truck body armor - Go Off-road Armor Tech

I have a 19 TRD ORP I bought new in November and has 16k on it already. It's pinstriped to hell. The paint on 4runners is not their strong suit, it's known to be soft. If you plan on offroading it, just accept the pinstripes as your "I'm not a mall crawler" merit badge and enjoy the vehicle. Have fun!

I think MillerPKA had some comment on a video or post about what he does to protect his paint.

It works really well and doesn't slide or come off.

Second question, how does it look? Have to look nice for the ‘gram. But seriously, do you have pics with it installed. Curious how it will fit around some mods and if trimming will be required. Guess it won’t work on fiberglass fenders either.

You might as well pinstripe the crap out of your truck, and then when you get sick of the scratched look a couple years down the line, you can wrap it and it's like you have a brand new truck.
