Over on tacomaworld, some 2020 Pro people were saying that the crawl control wasn’t working. And that the truck would stop even trying a mere incline.
One guy took this up with his dealer.
Crawl control not working | Tacoma World
I was wondering if is working ok on on the 2020 4Runners.
I did some crawl control tests and posted it there:
“I just compared the CC of my wife’s 2020 Off-Road Tacoma to my 2017 Off-Road 4Runner.
Very disappointed in the Tacoma!
In my gravel driveway of approximately 4-5 degrees.
Tacoma:
Just up the driveway. No problem.
Chocked at a stop. Front tires with 4X4’s an rear with 2x4’s. Wouldn’t budge! Didn’t even try. Same with all speed settings.
Backed up about 3 feet for a head start. Would come to a dead stop at lowest 2 setting. At speeds over the 1st two settings, it would make it over. But that would be easy in any car.
4Runner:
Chocked all four tires with 4x4’s (on Tacoma used 2-4x4’s and 2-2x4’s).
No problem whatsoever, Chalked from a dead stop.
At first it kind of gently tried, then it hit it like it meant business.
Lost faith on the 2010 Tacoma.
Gained faith in my 4Runner.
There is obviously a programming difference.”
I can just hear the Ford & Jeep guys sayin, “Do you know how to stop a new Tacoma on the trail?” ...with a 4X4 post!”
