Yet another Icon squeaking thread...
I've searched around and haven't found any answers that apply to me, so I figured I'd post my own.
I've lowered the LCA on a jackstand and the only vibration I feel from the noise is on the lower arm of the shock, I'm thinking I maybe busted a seal and lost oil? Not sure, working with Icon support told me to buy Silicon lube but hasn't responded with anything else.
Steps taken:
1. Silicon Lube all the moving parts and lower shock link to the UCA
2. Tighten Skid plates to spec
3. Confirm torque of LCA bolts, Lower arm to LCA bolt
4. Check SPC LT UCA grease + tighten UCA bolt

Yes, it's loud, and it's gotten louder lately. So loud my neighbors and people in the parking lot look over. It's my daily driver and it's driving me crazy.

ICON Coilover Lower Mount Replacement Bearing Kit
I had the same noise, spray down the bearings the best you can with some silicone grease and give the truck a shake. If the noise stops, then you'll have confirmed its the bearings. Mine were completely broken

Damn, I've sprayed everything except for the bearing as I didn't want to wear any components down with silicon. I've had these on for 6 months so I hope they aren't already shot!
Having said that I'm hoping Icon responds with something other than "Silicon lube". Have you had this issue again since you've replaced them?
Edit: Actually the lower arm bolt I've sprayed around quite a bit. Did you have to take it apart to get the bearing lubed? I've soaked this thing in silicon lube at this point.

I talked to the guys at metal tech and they actually told me about this bearing noise issue, which is apprently common with icons, but not a well known fix ( if that makes sense).
So to test their suggestion I saturated both sides of the bearings with silicon spray and the noise stopped instantly. The noise would stop for about 1-2 days in the summer after spraying.
So i ended up ordering the bearing kit and had to pull out my coil overs and replace the bearings as my old ones were completely rusted out and in pieces.
Hope that helps

I had a similar noise on my wife's 4Runner a while back, and thought it was the UCA. I had been all up and down the suspension, greased the UCA ect/the vibration of the noise even felt like it was coming from the UCA....
I tried spraying some lubricant around the sway bar mounts and up under the skid plate/where the the sway bar runs across.....and the noise hasn't been back since....It's worth a try to narrow it down.....

It’s 100% your spherical bearings either the top or lower one on that particular coilover. I have the exact same noise and just waiting for my new KING coilovers before I pull my Icons off the truck.

A shame you only got 6 months out of yours. Mine lasted about 2.5 years and 40,000 mi. A good chunk of them off-road

yeah it seems like a bearing, I was hoping Icon would honor a warranty since it's so new but it appears that getting a response from them other than "buy silicon lube" is near impossible. I'll keep calling I guess...

I would remove your coilover and see if there is any play in both those bearings. It’s actually pretty cheap and easy to replace them

I have a intermittent squeak as well.
It can happen one time then when I park and go again its completely gone. I'd always thought it was the UCA bushings so I kept re-greasing them and noise went away for a bit. Now I'm thinking it might just be me dropping the suspension a bit to get in there which was the temp fix.
Do I need a special press or anything for this bearing kit?

You guys are awesome, I finally got a hold of Icon support on the phone and got them to send me a bearing. 20 minutes to get the shock off.. ended up having to go to harbor freight and get one of their presses... pressed that sucker out and pressed the new one in and BOOM no more noise! Took maybe an hour total.
Ended up following this guide to get the clips in and help navigate pressing the bearing in/out. Wasn't too bad.
All in all, I hope this isn't an issue I face regularly considering it's been only 6 months. However it's not too bad to replace.
Check out the movement on the old bearing, the new one barely moved!

Which press did you get from HF? I might need to do this real soon along with a full service of the shock.

This is the one I ended up getting, maybe overkill but it made things way easier.

A socket and hammer work better than a press. Best price on the COM10T bearings is from Summit Racing. I think I have replaced my Icon lower bearings at least 10-12 times.
That looks a lot like my write up
