False floor--Sub Enclosure, Trash the cargo deck

If this has already been covered, I apologize-- I've searched but most mods are centered around the JBL side mount.

I'm considering removing the cargo deck completely and making a sub enclosure for the floor along with a false floor like in the photo. CarAudioFabrication has an amazing car audio channel on YouTube for anyone considering upgrading.

Any posts out there on replacing the deck (officially joining the i hate it club) with a custom enclosure for the floor with a false floor on top?

Sure a few guys will direct me to the side panel mods--I've seen them and they did great jobs, but not what I'm looking to do. Did see the drawer slides with stealth boxes, but I'd like something with a lower profile.

Typically, those false floor enclosures are where a spare would normally be. I’m not sure you would have the depth for a standard sub there. But you could raise the false floor I suppose to get the height you want/need. It’s possible that some of the shallower subs like the JL line would fit, but those won’t have the performance typically of a ‘normal’ sub.

I figured I'd get about 3 inches removing the deck--3 inches doesn't sound like a lot, but I think most of us wouldn't mind 3 more False floor--Sub Enclosure, Trash the cargo deckFalse floor--Sub Enclosure, Trash the cargo deckFalse floor--Sub Enclosure, Trash the cargo deck

Idea was to cheat it to the seats and additional backing on the seats like a lot of guys have done on here when they're putting in a bed platform.

Might be better just to say screw it and look at the side install.

Yeah, without the spare that would be tough to get enough airspace in a non-third row setup. The third row has a much higher overall height and could definitely be replaced with an enclosure. However I'm very happy with my side enclosure
