My coat hook mod fishing rod holder

Basically went off of this thread Interior Overhead Fishing Rod Holder and added my own twist.

All materials can be found at wally world.

Setup:

These are the smallest clips. Found near the zip tie section of walley world. I zip tied them like this so they are farther up and at an angle so they can open and not interfere with the other clips.

Closer view of the back:

The middle section. With the cloths bar extended and the flexible tie unhooked you have access to pull the rods out. The clothes bar gets lower as it is extended.

The cloths rod gets closer to the roofline as it is retracted and this is what keeps the rods from moving laterally. Secure the flexible tie at this point to the handle. The flexible tie down is secured by zip ties to the non extending part of the rack. The purpose of the flexible tie down is to keep the bar from extending during normal driving.

If you don't have a sunroof, you may need another way to secure the rods to the middle section since there roofline is higher on non-sunroof models.

Sidenote: What's that liner you have on the back of the 2nd seats? It looks like it has cutouts for the seat headrests and such

Can you fit an 8 1/2' pole in there comfortably?

That would be awesome if they were cutouts. They're the stitching for the straps that wrap around the other side.

It is this cover..

Not sure about comfortably but the silver/grey rod is 7'9" and there's about 3 inches to the windsheild in front and 7 inches to to rear glass.
