What Light Bar are You Using?

I am thinking about purchasing a light bar for the front of my Gen 5 T4R. I would like some more experienced options on the make/model your using along with the pros & cons. (Baja, Heise, Or ?)

I have been running a 20" Heise. I don't have any experience with another brand of light bar, but I have been more than happy with it. Works great, and lights things up well beyond 100 yards away. It's like having my high beams on X5.

X2 on the Heise. I run a 20" in the grill and a 40", (or close enough), up top. I liked the quality for the price and so far, (1 year in), I have been happy with them. The bar on the roof especially has been through a ton of hits from low hanging branches and had no problems. Light output is great, one of the conditions I use them in is a set of huge pastures and power line right of ways. I don't know an exact distance but you can spot hogs around a 1/4 mile away, probably more.

Running a dual function from Apex Overland. It's the same as the ExtremeLED X6 that they sell for way more. You can also find them on Amazon for slightly cheaper. Pretty impressed with the quality of this chinese light bar. Haven't had any moisture or fading of the lenses. I've never had a complaint about the output and the dual function is nice to have amber only function.

Cons: The amber portion does look orange, in case that's not your cup of tea. It's confirmed that the replacement lenses that extremeled sells fit the apexoverland bar and the ones on Amazon cause they are all the same rebranded light bar. So you can replace them with a clear and then toss on some yellow laminx if that's more your cup of tea.

i've used the big name brands mainly, but diode dynamics bars are very good quality and they have sales all the time.

i have a baja s8 40" , piaa 18" ion yellow fog, 2 Pairs of Rigid Sae-SR series fogs. 2x 12" driving lights from diode dynamics on the 4runner, most name brand stuff is well built

diode dynamics really upped the game with their latest cubes if you need any.

had an Opt7 on my 4th Gen, and I've been using the same one on my 5th gen for 3 years now. Great quality, and very bright.

This is the same bar about 3 or 4 years apart

Can't beat it for the price

Baja Design 20" OnX6 (older model, not as bright as current offerings)
I also have BD Squadrons for fog lights, and yet to be mounted ditch lights. I installed a set of the DiodeDynamics SS3's in my brother's F150 last week and was pretty impressed. The beam was a little short for my liking, but they were plenty bright and reasonably priced. I'd definitely give them a solid consideration.
That said I've scared deer off the road 1/3 of a mile away with my OnX6. It's been through an accident, takes a pressure washer at full blast, and is probably up there with my HK "hell and back reliability." @BajaDesigns My only gripe about BD is the u-service front panels, it was a great selling point for me. But the small odd-size allen wrench heads are very easy to strip, especially when they've been over-torqued at the factory. I've now installed a total of 6 Squadron Lights, 4 of which were so tight that they were not user serviceable in any manner. My OnX6 front plates are too tight to service as well. The company stands behind their product and will service them as you'd like if you pay to ship the lights back to them, but I shouldn't have to do that on something that is touted as user-serviceable. If you don't ever plan on changing lenses or breaking them, it's not such a selling point or drawback. Just relating my experiences.

I have tried a bunch of lights.... from no-name to brand name.

I am looking at this more from a reflector design standpoint... I very much prefer a single row bar with a bigger/deeper reflector than the dual row of smaller shallow reflectors.

I find the overall beam pattern to be better in how it throws light down range. In my experience it manages the flood pattern around the truck better.

Most of the dual row light I had flood too much, making everything close to you too bright.

You end up with this sensation that the light further away isn't bright enough. Because everything near you is overexposed.

I’m running a Cali raised. Will probably get a BD S8 at some point, but it seems to be very bright. Installed it about a month ago so can’t comment on long term reliability yet.

Some people look down on them but I've had nothing but good reviews from them.

Extreme Led has been my go to for a long time now. I've been using a their single row 50 inch lightbar and haven't had any problems and ive had for over 3 years now.

As for pros and cons, brighter light bars can provide excellent visibility during nighttime off-roading, but they might be too intense for regular street use. Additionally, keep in mind the installation process and any potential wiring requirements.
