How to remove cargo rear trim?

Sorry for asking lots of questions lately

I'm trying to make one of those "even out the cargo with folded seats" and looking to remove the carpet+foam for extra space. I've tried to find as many references or videos but nothing has quite shown me how to remove the rear trim piece (the piece that sits against the hatch)

I was able to pry it open from the inside/carpeted side and it lifted up except for each corner, and the opposing side. I don't want to just pull it up even harder for fear of breaking or cracking something.

Anyone have any clear guidance on how to remove this trim piece? It just doesn't want to budge!

Does removing the carpet and foam really give you that much more room? The platform I built to level my back out just slides over the carpet with no problem. If I’m thinking of the same piece you’re talking about I believe you have to unscrew the factory tie down points on the side.

No it's not a lot more are all but I'm planning to keep this in permanently so why not have a bit extra space to store stuff underneath?

Is your level platform in all the time or so you take it out and put it in when needed?

It stays in all the time because I have a single dobinson drawer secured down to it. I also have a pullout table on the other side.
