Thumbs up DIY 4Runner window storage out of metal mesh

Finally finished a pair of storage panels today! Look nice and working well. Total cost is around $80. Definitely paid off!!😎😎

The yellow Mesh is burning in my eyes but other then that you did a fantastic job, thanks for sharing.
Im sure it will work just fine for all the little things that makes sense to carry, but keep us posted after some practice test.
I have to think about that too, I could need some xtra tie spots when my mother in law is with us, I would rather drag her behind the runner but my wife wants her in the car

Really nice work man. I went lazy on this one and just used victory4x4's pre-made ones. As gimmicky of an idea as it seams i personally use the crap out of them, keeps all my essentials I want in the truck but leaves floor space for the groceries.

Metal mesh and edge cover are all from 8020. I came cross them while I'm planning a cross bar made out of 8020 extruded aluminum. Then I decided to give it try first. Here are part codes for wire mesh and wire edge:

2473 - 36"X36" 1" X 1" YELLOW WIRE MESH CUT TO SIZE

2465 - WIRE EDGE - CUT YOU NOT WIRE EDGE

Both could be customized to size. Wire mesh is 36"*36" for me, cut into half which will be enough for two window storages. Please note my 4runner is limited with 3rd row seat. If yours doesn't have 3rd row seat, it could end up different size.
