Suggestion. I would pick your tent first.

1. Size. The tent you pick for comfortable 3 person sleeping will likely hang over the front, maybe a lot. Remember any tent is rated for number of people shoulder to shoulder, so three people I would get a four person tent. A full length would give better tent support in that case. I have a full size X-Cover and it takes up most of my full length rack.

2. Aerodynamics and noise. Depending on what tent you pick some are bricks, like mine, and hard shells can be much more aerodynamic. Without having a fairing in front of the tent on a soft shell tent your gas mileage will plummet and there will be a lot of wind noise.

I even added an extended fairing that really helps. In fact it increases my mpg by 5 on the highway with the tent.

3. Bar direction. Some tents can mount to rails running front to back or side to side. But all mount to side to side rails. I had to replace my Rhino rack with a Victory because of this.

If I bought a full length today, it would be a Sherpa hands down.

I also like that their racks are very adaptable to other vehicles, so if I do end up mounting one on something else in the future, I can move accessories around easily between them.
Have any pics of your 20 with the front runner? Is it shorter than the oem pro rack in height?

I don’t have any pics of my 4runner, but the victory4x4 website has a pic on their website.

TBH, I don't notice it at all.

Definitely shorter. From what I remember the Front Runner only adds maybe 2 inches or so of height over the standard factory cross bar rack.

I was having issues getting a picture resized small enough to attach. If you PM me I can shoot you one by email.

I have 5 LFD crossbars and their fairing with stock roof rails. Works great. I have installed XBulls and Hi-lift jack and will be putting on an awning and some rotopax. It should all fit.

I also just installed the Victory 4x4 Standard Rack on a '16 TP. Was really leaning toward FrontRunner, but the price was just to good to pass on the Victory.

No use of the rack yet, but I'm positive it will do everything I want.
