Looking at 3/4 Roof Racks. Recommendations, pics, feedback.
I am considering an aftermarket 3/4 roof rack. I know I can buy LSD, Victory 4X4 and Rago crossbars, but, I would still have to spend money and time to have my factory rails powder coated. Best solution IMO. Probably will run $80-100 out here. So, I was thinking if I am going to remove the rack and spend as much as $100, why not install a new 3/4 rack. Primary purpose would be to mount a RTT that would fit my wife, 6 year old son and myself. Also, basic infrequent outside storage boxes for camping/traveling. Was primarily considering a LFD or Victory 4x4. Steel vs. Aluminum in a short rack? Does it matter? Wind noise is key. TIA.

I was in the same boat a while back. I was planning to get a couple LFD crossbars and was going to get the stock silver side rails powdercoated black to match. Instead, I ended up buying the steel LFD 3/4 rack during their Black Friday sale. In the 5 months that I've had it installed, it's been great. It's solid, quiet, and gives you lots of different mounting options. I'm very happy with it!

I already have my rails plastidipped black so not sure if i just want to get the crossbars.

I've been eyeing the FrontRunner 3/4 rack lately. I've had a LFD 3/4 in the past.

Anything you didn’t like about the LFD?

I like my victory 4x4 3/4 rack. The only negatives would be needing to use paint protective film under the fairings and needing special T slot bolts as mount points. Other than that, it’s great. Zero noise and no drop in MPGs.

Not a fan of the silicone reliance for mounting and protecting from the elements. Powder coating (+prepping) could have been a little better.
Their pricing is very competitive though. And the rack is really solid/heavy duty.

Your rig looks great. I have followed your mods and liked the rack and your overall setup. How’s the wind noise unloaded?

I really like my Front Runner 3/4. Had it on my 2016 for about 35000 miles and then moved it over to my 2020 when I got it. I like the weight savings of Aluminum, plus the catalog of specialized accessories for the Front Runner is just unparalleled.
I also like that their racks are very adaptable to other vehicles, so if I do end up mounting one on something else in the future, I can move accessories around easily between them.

Do you have some pics you could post? I would appreciate it. Based on price it seems that I am down to the LFD or Victory 4X4.
