Always on USB charger

What is the best way to wire in an always on USB port. I was going to add this to one of the banks in the dash.
I want something that I can charge my phones and possibly run the dash camera when the car is off. I know there could be issues with discharging battery but I'm ok with that.
Should I just run it directly to the battery or is there a better solution?

Add-a-Fuse and tap into a blank fuse slot under the dash.
I used these two from Amazon:

Fuse:Amazon.com: 10 Pack - EPAuto 12V Car Add-a-circuit Fuse TAP Adapter Mini ATM APM Blade Fuse Holder: Automotive

Charger:Amazon.com: Cllena Dual USB Port Charger Socket Quick Charge 3.0 & 2.4A for Toyota

Piece of cake.

There might be some mods for hot wiring the 12V plug - you might search for that and use a 12V USB converter.

Some cameras have internal batteries. I have the Roav ProCam C2 and it has a back up battery and will trigger if there is an impact.

If you don't find what you need you may want to look at a fuse tap like this. You will need a circuit that is always live. I have never used myself but they seem to be popular. Also the fuse box cover may not fit at that point.

Amazon.com: Uriveusa 12V Car Add-A-Circuit Fuse TAP Adapter Fuse Holder with 10A, 20A Fuse [Upgraded Fuses] - (2 Pack) (Mini Fuse): Automotive

This will get you 12V. Aou will also need a 12V to 5V USB port. There are lots of options there.

Thanks for the feedback. I decided to run a line directly to the battery as I found a premade harness in my junk draw with an inline fuse.
