Upper Control Arms - Brands

I am in the market for upper control arms and there are lots of choices out there. (I am going to spell out the name here rather than use the acronym UCA because the search feature doesnt work with a search of 3 letters or less)

SPC Upper Control Arms are on Amazon for $426 https://amzn.com/B015K11VME
But they are using a cheaper ball joint which people are reporting needs to be replaced.

Total Choase Upper Control Arms for $684.55
https://amzn.com/B00B53FH3Q
Come with polyurethane bushings and 1" uniball ball joint

Camburg - $699
https://amzn.com/B01E81XP12
Come with polyurethane bushings and uniball ball joints

Icon Vehicle Dynamics - $1200
All aluminum and the nicest looking out here and out of my budget.

Anyone else have any feedback on these brands or another brand of Upper Control Arms they would recommend?

My understanding is that SPC has recently upgraded their ball joint to a new greaseable version that is supposed to cure the early wearout issue.

Biggest advantage to SPC is that caster/camber is adjustable. If your LCA cam bolts are frozen, as are mine, but the bushings are in good shape (mine are), I figure the SPC's can stave off the wretched job of sawing those LCA bolts out for a few years, and I can still get my alignment tweaked in.

This is another option
Upper Control Arms, Pro-Series - Toyota

There are two types of Icon UCA. the billet (expensive and only for looks) or the tubular ($600ish) which are similar to the Total Chaos, but the uniball is a different material (I believe).

Edit: BTW, the ones you have labeled as Toytec are actually the Total Chaos.

I can hook you up with the SPC for 390 delivered w/ 2day shipping.

Check out JBA Offroad UCA's

Had them for several months. BJ design, has the range of motion of a uniball without the maintenance concern that some have. Price is lower than most others out there. Several Tacoma people run them. I have been very pleased, and they are made in the USA.

Thanks for the TotalAutmotive Link... I bought my other suspension parts from them. Those are very nice control arms too,... i guess the trick is to keep those heims and uniball clean and greased.

JBA is a ball joint design

It's greaseable and the BJ is available anywhere. From a 1/2 ton GM pickup. I was able to get great caster numbers with mine (about 3.5 deg), important if you are lifting!

Camburg Uniball, JBA, SPC are the three that we can think of

Also, using an arm with a quality uniball. When the clearances are tight, less chance for noise. FK do not normally make noise, but some of the cheaper arms might.

What is the range of adjustment in degrees that I would need built into the Upper Control Arm? it also seems that some offer more than others.

More caster is what you want to achieve.

Per the DK thread.

Alignment went good, I am not 100% how much they helped with caster, as I did not align it with and without. For my set up (I think im around 3" lift in front) I do wish the arms had a slight bit more correction in them, but it rides great and I am overall very happy.
