TRD Intake and Exhaust
Everyone has a different opinion. The reality is, even at +15 HP, your 0-60 would still suck.
I did add Sprintbooster and it's definitely more snappy on the throttle response. Not faster, just better response.
|
Well, better response does equal faster in a sense. Not that you're adding any power but the vehicle will be quicker to respond, and therefore, faster. If you and I are at a stoplight or side by side on the highway, and I'm running my sprint booster and you are not, and we both attempt to accelerate, my throttle plate will open quicker and my vehicle will downshift quicker and I'll probably pull ahead of you as the standard throttle mapping is very laggy.

Intake and exhaust give improvements? Yes, If the exhaust is connected to a turbo and the intake of same turbo plumbed to 4.0 intake!

I did the URD Y pipe first then three months later added an exhaust. When I upgraded the muffler it really opened up my mid to top end even more. I still want a full catback Borla T and I'm pretty dang sure I would benefit from that upgrade but I still love the way it sounds and feels now. Just my experience and speculation.

Probably should have just slowed down!

I haven't noticed drone with my Borla but I very rarely go above 75 especially for extended periods so that might have something to do with it.

I have the Borla Touring catback and it does not drone at all, my Wife doesn't even know that I put an aftermarket exhaust on my truck

I heard a TRD exhaust the other day. It's only about as loud as FJs were. I really want one now.

I’m guessing that would be extremely difficult to quantify, demonstrate, and prove. And if everything went your way, are we talking 0.1 second improvement to 60mph? I think once you learn your 4Runner’s gas pedal, you can get it to do what you want, pretty much. Plus, I’ve read that it learns about you, too. Mine seems to have done so.

Does exhaust do anything for 4runners? YES!!!!!
Love the smell that comes from having the back-window down. Love it, love it, love it.
