Just wanted to introduce myself

Sup guys, this forum has been very informative. I have a 2018 pro. Just curious if there was a wrench day like how they have over on Tacoma world where a bunch of members get together and help each other install parts? I’m in East Texas and willing to drive to Dallas or somewhere near there. I’ve Been getting quotes for 1k and up not including alignment to install and I think that’s a rip off. My buddy in Cali said he paid 600 and that’s including alignment. Please let me know guys!

Welcome!

1k does seem a bit steep for what’s pictured.

I did the same here in Southern California and I paid roughly $1600 but INCLUDING some new 285/65/18 Ridge Grapplers so my suspension install was around $400 with alignment.

Welcome! As a Taco owner myself I can relate.

I'm in the SF Bay Area and there are virtually no shop that will install after market parts that modify anything. Aside from a few mom and pops (work is questionable) there is a 4wd shop in Scotts Valley and 4Wheel parts. They all want like $2500 to install Bilstiens. Shop time is $300-400/hr here.

If someone found $600 for quality work, it's a steal!

Yea my buddy in sounthern Cali got his work done at 88rotors in El Monte. They YouTube channel and are always cranking out work on Toyota’s my buddy said their quality is legit. I hope someone chimes in from Texas and could maybe help me install and I’ll pay them. I’d rather not pay 1k to some shop that I know is trying to rip me off. Plus I’ll get a chance to learn

That’s funny, I’m about 15 minutes from 88 Rotors, one of my buddies is an installer there.

Also funny, I’m flying to Houston next week to visit some family in Richmond.

Honestly, I’d say try the install, since you have a pretty simple suspension system. I didn’t want to hassle with mine since I have KDSS and not a lot of free time with a newborn.

There are tons of walkthroughs on YouTube, and with some basic tools, you can take your time, maybe have a friend over that can give you a hand.

Main thing to remember is not to stretch any brake lines or ABS wiring, but most of the walkthroughs go through this.

Happy wrenching and save yourself 1k for some other mods!

PS: what kind of Rays wheels are those??

I’m still looking for a good deal on some Large PCD TE37s

Yea I might tackle the install myself if I ever get any free time..

Wheels are volk te37xt 17x8.5 -10, went with the blue muteki lugs. Would have gotten the rays dura nuts but showstoppers didn’t have them in blue. Got the bronze center caps too.

I would hit up showstoppers in Glendale ca if ur looking for the volk large pcd. They gave me a significant discount on the wheels, suspension and baja design lights. Saved a shit ton of money and best price from any vendor. I shopped around too nobody came close to matching what I paid.

Thanks, can you send a link of a YouTube video? I tried searching and no step by step videos came up. Most are just reviews and the few that are somewhat tutorial fast forward the install part and then just talk..

Smart, so you didn’t touch the sway bar at all? Just dropped the LCA and pry bar’d down for clearance?

NICE!
