Did the same and parts look identical to mine. The metal oil filter housing is well worth it too for those that don’t have one.

That’s wild. If I ever make it into the store again I’ll have to check my local Walmart

I ordered a 5 pack of oil filter kits from Toyota of North Miami Parts on Amazon, all with the holographic stickers on the boxes, and p/n printed on the filter media identical to your pictures. Just for my own understanding, the YZZA5 p/n is for the entire kit, and the YZZA2 p/n is for the element itself?

As for the OP, that's one of the tradeoffs about Ebay vs. Amazon. I often cross shop both; Ebay usually has better prices and the sellers ship faster, but Amazon seems to have more actual dealership parts departments selling on there. If you want OEM for a specific part, go Amazon, if OEM doesn't matter, go Ebay.

Yeah I totally agree about all of your points. I’ve shopped eBay for years for OEM car, boat, and motorcycle parts for years and I’ve never had a problem with anything until now. I went back to look at the item details on the filters I ordered and under manufacture it doesn’t say Toyota. It says generic, but in the pictures they look like the OEM filter boxes with the hologram. Lesson learned on this one.

Ha never even looked at the print on the paper before this thread and still didn't notice it. Has anyone ever seen a yzza5 on their filter? The other picture in this thread has a yzza2 on the paper and a yzza5 on the box as well. Wondering if the paper cross references with several vehicles. I'm 5 changes into this case, with several trips out of state, including AZ 5k mile roundtrip. It's running good so I guess the engine is ok for now. SMH... you could probably get six different answers from six different dealers on that one. The 4th gen gets a Napa Gold screw on so I know I'm safe with that one lol.

Bought the 5th gen used 5 1/2 yrs ago from a dealer in the next town over, with free oil changes. After one change the skid bolts were stripped and the filter was a shorter version by about a 1/4". No more dealer changes after that.

Question 15613-yzza2 <> 04152-yzza5

Yeah... I'm cross posting here because I need answers.

In the midst of making a video about Toyota Genuine OEM Parts, I came across this filter from the local dealership (direct from the parts counter). I guess its possible this is a mistake on Toyota's Part(s) (pun intended). However, its more likely the dealerships are getting these from somewhere else on the cheap. I just want to see this part number in Toyota's database and know that it IS in fact the correct filter for my 4Runner.

Once I have answers, I plan to share them in my next YouTube video because this is just confusing.

I was going to include a brief mention of Genuine Toyota Parts in the video below when I discovered the 'mismatch' of part numbers. :/

There is a huge supply of knock off toyota parts floating around on Amazon and Ebay. Buy all your parts from:

What's the going rate for these filters, direct from Toyota?

Arrow MYSTER SOLVED(ish)

Reposted from another thread, but I figured I'd share here as well since it is relevant information...

The part number for 04152-YZZA5 also has no mention of the above part number in searchable text. However, I think I just found my answer...

On the page for the 04152-YZZA5 I did find this image that seems to show the same 15613-YZZA2 part number on the filter itself... I must conclude as others have already mentioned that this is an internal part number to Toyota and not one they publish to the public since the part is only sold in the oil filter kits. I still find this super frustrating from a customer perspective as I try to ensure that I do have the correct parts.

Yes, bought a case of 10 these off Amazon for $44.50 with free shipping. At 10K oil change intervals, this should get us to about 330K miles.

I don't get... people complain about fake or inferior oil filters that cost between $5 to $15 range.

But people put up with 3rd party made in China windshield glass that distorts the vision when viewing through the curvature...

Safelite windshields work just fine and have no distortion.
