KDSS fuse on NON-KDSS 4Runner

I was fuse tapping my rig for a dash cam today only to discover that I have a KDSS fuse on a NON-KDSS TRD Off-Road. I used that fuse for my ignition source wire but thought it may be prudent to check with the brains on T4R to see:

1. Why that fuse exists on NON-KDSS rigs (the limited apparently has them also)

2. If anything actually uses that fuse on a non-kdss as I'm hoping it was safe to tap into for the cam.

Surprised this didn’t get more attention, damn good question because also would be great spot for add a fuse for raptor lights (since 20 cabin fuse box is different layout). I too am wondering if this fuse does anything on non-kdss trucks, and if ok to tap into.

I’m no electrician but this is the spot I used for my add-a-fuse for raptor lights. 2020 sr5p and no issues ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hi, I’m brand new to this site, but have read a lot of things on here over the years. I hope someone still sees this as it’s an older thread.....I bought a 2021 TRDP and bought the aiden James fog bezels and wired them to the 10INJ slot under the hood and they work just fine. I have now bought the raptor lights and ran them through the fire wall but looked at the fuse box by the E brake and don’t know which I can tap for them to work and not short a fuse. There is a KDSS slot and the TRDP don’t come with KDSS so I was wondering if this slot has another function?? If that fails I’ve seen some post about the ACC fuse slot but it’s a 7.5 and the fuse adaptor the raptors come with have a 10 and 15 already lodged in there so I’m not sure if this would cause a problem being in a 7.5??? Any insight from the 4Runner fam would be greatly appreciated as I just want the lights to be on when the car is on.

Thanks in advance,
Eric
