I am currently out of stock of the brackets.

I currently working on the upgraded brackets and should have some more ready to go in a few weeks. There are a lot of variables but I think it should be doable.

Thanks to everyone that has supported this effort! I look forward to expanding in the near future.

Amazon.com: REOLINK 8CH 5MP PoE Home Security Camera System, 4pcs Wired 5MP Outdoor PoE IP Cameras, 8MP/4K 8-Channel NVR Security System with 2TB HDD for 24/7 Recording, RLK8-520D4-5MP: Home Improvement

It’s a Reolink system. You have to run a Cat5 cable to each camera for power and Comms but the system is bulletproof and has been trouble free for years. On top of that you can see the footage from any device In real time easily.

You’re right, this year has been pretty challenging. Interacting with the folks here and being able to deliver a solution to everyone has been a bright spot for sure. I really appreciate when folks post a picture of their installed racks. That makes me very happy.

As if my life isn't weird enough already... It was a petite young woman in her early 20's. She was in the middle of a psychotic episode when she hit my car. She lived a block and a half away and her neighbors said she redlined it before she threw it in gear. There is a stop sign between her house and mine and she blew through it and was still picking up speed when she hit my car.

She got out of the car and was clearly upset which I thought would subside in a minute. It didn't because she was going through an "episode". It actually got worse. I'm a pretty calm guy so I didn't make the situation worse. My car got smashed but honestly it's just "stuff" and "stuff" can be replaced.

Anyway my wife called the police about a regular traffic accident. Then the psychotic episode really manifested itself. The young girl started banging her head on the pavement, no kidding. In the end, I had 6 cop cars and an ambulance in front of my house. The girl wasn't physically hurt but she was just nuts.

In a side note, when the tow truck came to pick up my car he said he couldn't get it while it was against the fence. He asked me if it would start. I said I didn't know and jumped in to see. It fired right up and I backed it away from the fence.

He was having a tough time figuring out how to pick up the car. He then just jumped in it and drove it in a u turn up to the back of his truck so he could grab it. I was shocked but it drove right over there. It might not look like it but that little car is built like a tank.

Wow that's crazy! She almost flipped the car. In reality, this accident with your car may have saved somebody else's life further down the road.
Did you see the comment below the video? You could be famous-ish.

Good luck in the move.

I didn’t see the comment. Thanks for the heads up. Yes my life is weird. My friends weren’t even surprised this happened. I was in the army for 3 years and my friends thought I was a liar when I told them about my life. They said “there is no way these things are true”. Some of them came to Louisiana when I got married and then apologized. All the folks I had mentioned were real and all the things I mentioned did actually happen.

I don’t want to derail the thread but trust me... you wouldn’t believe me. Hahaha

Damn, fast shipping!
Did some preliminary measuring but figured I'd wait till after brackets are in stalled and measure again before ordering the extrusions
Stoked on this, thanks again man!

Thanks! I try to get stuff out the same day it’s ordered. Sometimes I can’t until the next day but I do my best.

I tell you what, my Grandma has put just over 500K on her xB before replacing the engine/trans. She loves that vehicle and would never give it up. Toyotanks.

I looked at the current offerings out there in the new car market. I need a commuter that is good on gas. I’m a big guy so the regular coupes just don’t work. I can’t get in and out easily. I wanted to find something I liked, I really did. Nothing came close to comparing to my xB.

I bought another one just exactly like my old one. This one just has fewer miles. I’m flying across the country Tuesday to go pick it up.

There just aren’t a ton of these on the market. People aren’t selling them at all.

You are correct... mostly. On my original rack, I measured between the rails backed out the thickness of my brackets and used that distance for my bars. What I found is that it's a perfect fit. This means if I want to loosen the bars and slide them back and forth they're a bit "sticky" and hard to move. An additional 1/16" provides enough room for free movement if you choose to loosen them and slide them.

The crossbar bar should be Total distance between rails - 1/8" - 1/8" - 1/16".

Ok 2010-2013 dudes here's how it stands. There is indeed a taper in the rails as mentioned earlier in the thread. Measure accordingly and subtract as needed per the quote I referenced above. Worked out great for me.
Also the sliders that go into the rails are a bit tall for us. I had to cut 1/8" off, making the total height about 1-1/8". No big deal
So the sizes I ordered were
38-1/4"
38-11/16"
39-1/8"
39-9/16"

I added some Tnuts w/spring ball, 1/4" eye bolts, and quarter turn drop in studs for future use.
I still recommend doing your own measurements as I noticed these rails flex a bit.
Overall I'm very happy with the outcome and this added some strength to my newly added Ironman awning. Super big thanks to @Eitek1 & @ElectroBoy for posting & making this happen.

Good job. I’ve been considering an awning but I thought it wouldn’t stand so high off the roof. How’s the awning bracket holding up to wind and vibration at highway speeds?
