I recently received the LFD fairing, but haven't had a chance to install it yet. A quick test fit told me I won't need any spacers, tho. I'll report back after a couple of upcoming holiday road trips.

This guy can’t get his life in order, so not someone you would conduct business over the internet with. I ended up going with an LFD stainless kit.

Agreed. That’s one of the reasons that I purchased 4 LFD wide bars with fairing on black Friday last year. Also, you do not have to remove your roof rails to install the LFD bars, you don’t have extra support pieces, and no T-slots to fill up with water as I didn’t see any drain holes. A piece meal project. LFD has good customer service also.

I waited too long for his mounts so just got similar mounts from GX Basecamp. Don't know who copied whose ideas, but these have the cutouts for the tracknuts to ease their use but this also allows for any water drainage.
Hope everything is well with this guy and I know aluminum costs have really gone up, but he's already got the difficult part, the CAM files.

As far as the noise, with the RTT I really don't hear any more noise, even at 70 or 75

Finally got the LFD fairing installed. I didn't have the hardware on hand to get it done before a long road trip, but I have tested it a few times on the freeway and it cuts noise significantly up to ~85MPH. I removed the crossbar to add the fairing, and it only took 15 minutes or so.

Agreed. I should have known better based on the FAQ on his website, posted below. Not only is he wrong, it makes no sense to add SAE hardware to this vehicle if you don't have to. Oh well, live and learn.

"Q - I notice you only use standard measurements although the rest of the car is metric, what gives?

A - There are two types of standard measurement systems and only one of them has carried men to the moon. Do I need to say any more?"

I finally found the time to fool with this stuff.

I made large T-nuts for the mounts using stainless 1"x1/4"-3" bar and threaded them for M10 bolts. These fit the 4Runner side rails perfectly and are certainly strong enough and rigid enough, to a point where the mounts don't need the bent angle design. The Roofnest tent to sit on top weighs 160 lbs.

The T-bars themselves were threaded to M6 for $2 an end, can't beat that.
The truck is metric, no sense in mixing it up with SAE hardware.
BTW, all 3 were only out by 1/32"

While I was using my buddy's mill, I also made a bunch of ss T-nuts for use on the aluminum cased Roofnest tent.
Even the store bought plated ones started to show signs of rusting in just a few days.

Hope all is well with the OP, just couldn't wait any longer.
