Clown poster, LOL.
Just because road force worked for you, doesn't mean it's the solution for everyone. It didn't work for me, and it was done at multiple shops, including a dealership. Plenty of other people on here have also got no relief from road forcing the tires.

Guess you went to the wrong shops. Dealer would be the last place I’d go. This has been detailed here many times. It is a balancing problem and you did not get it done right. Feel free to go down the rabbit hole chasing other possible causes and throwing all sorts of parts and labor at it.

This steering wheel shake is a problem that is extremely well documented, across multiple users, over multiple sites, who no doubt have taken their vehicles to multiple shops to diagnose and work on across the country. Wheel balance (after balance, after balance, after balance in many cases) has resolved the issue, but the fact remains that 4runners are extremely sensitive to this, at the very least, if not a flaw in the suspension or steering component design somewhere. Your statement that it’s an outright balancing problem is incorrect as there have also been many who have had other things fix it. Is it most likely a balancing problem? Of course.
To be clear, I’m talking about a wheel shimmy on unmodified vehicles. Mine has done this since brand new, and I’ve had 3 sets of tires balanced 4 times across 3 different shops - this is completely ridiculous. You can’t expect someone to put up with that much just to get their wheels balanced.

You’d be surprised how careless and lame many tire shop and dealership employees are and the results reflect that.

This is absolutley the truth !!! I had multiple shops (including my local Toyota dealer, which used a RF balancer) try to balance NEW tires on OEM wheels with terrible results. I was recommended to a small privately owned tire shop, which is 50 miles one way from my home, and the 84 year old owner knew how to PROPERLY use the RF balancer. Unfortunately he sold the business, but the new owners hired 1 of the previous employees who was trained by the 84 yo & I will be going there for some mounting/balancing in the near future. Here in southwestern, PA it is pretty hard to find tire shops where the employees actualy give a shit.

What worked for me (and others I've talked to) is a static balance.
I don't know why your ego is tied up in promoting road forcing as the one and only solution. If it solved the problem for you, great. It clearly doesn't work for everyone, for whatever reason.

It clearly does work for everyone, IF the operator of the RF balancing machine knows how to use it properly !!!

And you’re not going to have any indication of operator skill until you’ve already wasted your time at a shop and witnessed the imbalance afterward.

You are absolutely correct.
The key is finding a reputable tire shop in your local area which is known for doing quality balancing.
I have wasted more time & money at my local dealer and some local tire shops than I care to admit.

Interesting, in another thread on this the OP is giving updates on his static balancing and after 6,500 miles he’s getting vibration problems some of the time after hitting a pothole or something, but “99% of the time it’s fine.” Just wait until the uneven wear of the tire fully kicks in and it’s happening 100% of the time. Then we’ll see a new thread on this. Some people learn the hard way.
