Is there a way to make the back-rear glass window roll down by way of the remote?
I checked on toyota techstream and this isn't an option. Does anyone know of a way to do this without altering the internals of the rear back window itself (i.e., the electrical/mechanical functioning)?
edit: the back-rear glass window, the one that's on the rear-lift gate, not the rear passenger door windows
edit: it's not an option in techstream

There should be a remote on the key fob.

I'm pretty sure there's no way to do it via the factory remote for the tailgate window, I think that was only a 4th gen thing?

Actually yes, it is a dealer programmable option via techstream. Google search bar at the top should turn up something for you.

is your SR5 programmed to roll down with the key fob? my understanding was that this was not possible... only front & back windows & moonroof (my TE is programmed this way; hold down unlock button.

Thats what I thought. I didn't even know you could program your front & rear windows to roll down like that lol.

Yup I was also told that and IIRC it is also in the owners manual that it can be programmed but unfortunetly it could not The tech was able to program all the other customizations I wanted ie; windows and moon roof open (no close ), auto lock etc but after several tries on the rear glass we gave up.

You can't roll rear window with fob, although the brochure says you can. There's even a YouTube video from Toyota showing it but we've never been able to do it. Annoying but true.
Quake: you can program windows to go up/down with key in drivers door so if you do roll down with fob you can at least roll up without getting in truck. It's what I do. Just FYI.

Putting the key in the door kinda defeats the whole "remote" operation idea!

Agree with kmiller - I actually went into the dealer today and sat alongside the tech when he was programming it. No option for rolling down the hatch window at all. I got mine programmed to roll all windows down and the sunroof to slide back with the key fob, and had them program it to close everything with the key in the door. Also had them take the seat belt chime off.
I believe the reason toyota doesn't offer the feature to roll down the hatch window with the fob possibly because of the up/down buttons on the hatch itself, open to being wrong though.

Oh. Well considering they took away the auto close tailgate, antenna in the glass, among other things, it doesn't surprise me. Oh well.

no up/down buttons on the hatch of the Trail. pretty sure they're not on the SR5 either.
