That’s why I wanted to explore, but I guess NYS clearly sucks in it.
Don't worry, I get it. There are plenty of advantages to a 4Runner that if you're going to do beach driving and a lot of pretty gnarly snow driving, it's a pretty good vehicle.

I guess my only point is that you make a sacrifice once you go to a body on frame vehicle versus something unibody. A unibody with a good AWD system, at least 8 inches of ground clearance and decent tires (either ATs or snows in the winter) should be able to do as well as a 4Runner in most eastern situations I'd think while getting better than 16 to 18 mpg and without the sacrifices a BoF inherently has.

That being said, everyone should drive what they want . Beauty of a free country, hah.

I agree. Before buying this (second for me t4r) I seriously considered Honda Ridgeline. But for some reason went with the trd orp. Had 3rd gen for 8 years before that.

Honestly, if you can ever find an opportunity to take a long (think 2 or 3 week) driving road trip out west focused on Colorado and Utah, you'll never forget it with your 4Runner.

Everyone stuck east of the Mississippi River should give it a shot some time.

I was thinking about it for this summer, out of work and everything. But covid messed it up. And now getting back to work. Vicious cycle.
