I'm no expert but if I had to guess, probably around the $15K - $17K range. You'd have to find the right buyer to appreciate/want the mods you've put on the 4Runner.

The bolded items might increase the value over stock slightly. The rest will decrease the value significantly and narrow down your buyers by a whole lot.
Why? - the "average" buyer will be scared off by the mods and the person who wants a modded car may not like your mods and will be worried that they might not be done right or that the car was abused.

I mean, I have the original parts for the vehicle and can put it back to stock. But I've been told I would get more out of the vehicle selling it "whole" than putting it back and selling the parts individually.
Adventure motors said they could probably sell it for $23k

99% of the modified vehicles I've built and later sold have been more valuable in pieces than they were as a whole. It's unfortunate, but that's the reality when most folks just want an OEM product.
It really boils down to time vs. money - How much of a premium do you place on the time and effort involved in pulling the mods off, reinstalling the OEM parts, and selling/shipping the aftermarket pieces?
Side note - It's a great looking truck. Shoreline blue might be the best color on the early trails...

it is a great looking truck!
my preferred dealership offered me a great price for my 4runner last year, and it was mentioned that the price reflected the fact that I hadn't done any electrical mods to it.
If you think you will reuse the winch and LED, I'd pull 'em. But if it's a matter of a hole in your bumper, I'd probably just leave them and move on with whatever price you can get.

I'm taking mine back to stock or as close to it as I can to get it ready for sale. I did some quick spreadsheeting and my mods (not including suspension) added up to about 5k and even if I get 60-75% of that back I will be happy.
I'm parting mine out and going to sell it as close to stock as possible because I think that's how I'm going to get the best return on my mods. Granted theres some time input with finding stock parts (I'm sure some of you have seen my for sale item recently in the 5th gen FS thread and there will only be more items coming up FS off my 4runner in the future.
Anybody want a linex'd color matched MGM no scoop hood??? Lol

Not sure who told you that you'd get more for it as-is, because you are very limited in your buyers.
Nearly every mod will reduce the value to a buyer. If you have a dealer willing to sell it on commission and believes that they could get $23k, the go that route - but prepare to be disappointed.
Your car, BTW, looks great and that is a fantastic color.

Absolutely the way to go.
I tried to sell a really nice Mustang 5.0GT convertible back when they were all the rage for a very fair price. Tried for about 3 months.
Finally took it to a dealer and he sold it for thousands more than I was asking in 2 days. Yes it was a really nice car.
All because he could finance and I couldn't.
Funny thing is that I got more this way than I was trying to get by myself.
