Super easy. Make sure to follow the directions on the can - lots of light, even coats.

Thanks for responding, everyone. All your rigs look great. I am debating on going black TOYOTA, black valance, and black wheels. My silver valance has a few chips from driving through brush. That was my biggest reason for doing the valance. I keep staring at photos of peoples 4Runners.
I love the black TRD wheels and apparently they give a tiny bit more poke. Thats appealing. I do like the Off Road wheels quite a bit too. The thing that kept me from swapping wheels earlier was all the nightmare posts I read about getting a shake at highway speeds after new tires, or rotating wheels. I contacted a dealer about putting on the TRD wheels, and he was aware of needing a "collar" on the balancer, and torquing to the right spec to avoid any shakes. That has made me lean towards doing the wheels.

I love the look of your truck. Looks aggressive. This is making me want to do the valance, TOYOTA, and regular TRD wheels in black. What part is that on your hood? From Toyota? Prevent rock chips? Looks great! How do you like it?

I love that blue. It was what I was originally getting, until the only one I liked (options) around me was not in great shape. If I had a blue, I wouldn't be thinking of black options. Black and blue, generally, don't go. How do you like the TRD wheels? Can you see a difference in stance? A tad more poke?

The blue was a requirement for me. They seem to be getting much more popular, but when I bought it they were hard to find in my area. Especially and ORP with KDSS. I think the backspace is different on the TRD from the normal ORP wheels, they seem to give it a slightly wider stance. I put the wheel, tires, and level on it all at once though so it’s hard to gauge what did it. I think the black wheels go fin it with so I like them, but I definitely wouldn’t black it all out after seeing one that way. I have been thinking of getting something more gunmetal color, but that’s probably just my constant desire to buy more things for it.

Weathertech bug guard. AVS probably makes it for them as they are the same.
I don't really like them but every suv I've owned without gets pelted with highway road rocks and chipped. Pickup trucks I've never needed, probably because they are more squared off? regardless I always get them week one for an suv.
Don't buy tototas if you plan on using a car wash, they give mylar tape knowing the damn clips move and it will rub.... rubs so good it cuts through the tape and into the paint. this one mounts different, been through a car wash 100's of times as its on its 3rd 4runner now. The mount setup has nothing to rub on the paint

Now I am even more interested, with it actually helping. Good stuff. Appreciate the tips too. I would've gone Toyota had you not filled me in. Appreciate it

I went OEM black valances on my 19 TRD ORP...I couldn’t stand that X series had everything blacked out but I had silver valances. I bought a Shadow Black hyperdip from DYC to spray the TOYOTA probably this weekend. I think most of the colors look great with black but there are those few ones like Nautical Blue that look best with silver

MGM T4R here and I agree. The silver ORP valances look fine on ours if you have silver wheels (like the stock ones) or black wheels with enough silver highlights; but, the all black wheels (e..g, FN's, TRD's) need the black valances. All IMO of course! ;)

Late reply here, but I think it's weird that the Pros have blacked out 95% of trim for that level but left the rear lettering chrome. Why Toyota?
Anyway, I blacked out the rear valance completely with plasti dip but you have to remove the interior hatch panel as well as a few screws and I believe the speakers or speaker bracket too. After that you can pop out the valence itself with a bit of force and paint it.
I gave mine a quick alcohol bath prior to dipping it just to remove any oils/dust/etc. Four coats, and it's held up perfectly for almost two years now.

I like the looks of the TRD Pro, but I didn't want to be a poseur, so it painted it yesterday.

I have an SR5 Premium. When truck was new in 2017, I bought the china knock-off TOYOTA grill and also bought the front bumper valance. A year passed before I could get the mods done and I started to like and appreciate the clean look and lines on the stock SR5 and ended up doing nothing.
