Creaky Suspension after Icon Stg 2 Install

2015 TE w/ KDSS. Had the suspension installed in March. First Have a sneaking suspicion they didn't install the lower front bushings properly as I've seen videos of installers having to drill out one of them, which I suspect needed done but wasn't, and instead they only installed one of them. I noticed this when I had the car up on a jack and saw the base of the shock sitting crooked on the bolt.

Second, squeaking. For the love of god, the squeaking. Its coming from the front. Thought it may be the rubber bushings on the sway bar since they're extended due to the 3" lift, but now i'm not so sure. For anyone who's dealt with this, how did you remedy it? Im currently TDY and 800mi away from the installer.

I installed my Icon Stage 2 myself and I can say that both bushings should fit fine and there is no need to drill anything out. As of right now, I personally know over 20 people with Stage 2's (installed themselves) and the coilovers went on with both bushings and no drilling. I am not sure what videos you watched, but swapping out some front coilovers is pretty straight forward. In my opinion they should both have bushings, and it would drive me nuts that they both don't.

For the second part of your question, I did have some squeaking with my Stage 2 when I initially installed it. My issue was the upper control arms and not the coilovers themselves. I have JBA upper control arms and just needed to add a couple more shots of grease to each zerk and I was good to go. If you installed upper control arms to keep your alignment in check, you may want to look into the greasing of the UCA's also.

Hope this helps!

be sure to loosen your uca bolts before greasing and use a good grease. had a shop grease my uppers while they were installing new lowers and they did not loosen the bolts... my ride was incredibly rough and bouncy when i left the shop. thought it had to do with the new LCAs, then i looked at my uca bushings and found they were completely buldged out

You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Squeaking seems to have resolved. Not only did it appear the upper zerks not greased, they didn't put the dust covers over the end delta joint zerk, so I had to order some of those too.

Unbelievable how fast a reputable shop can go downhill.

Well I am glad you found the problem! I know squeaks and random noises can drive you crazy! Definitely get those dust covers on and just remember to put 2-3 shots of grease in each zerk every 10,000 miles (at each oil change). It may call to do it more often but I have had luck just doing it at each oil change and it helps me remember. Happy wheeling and enjoy your nice, quiet suspension!

A lot of aftermarket parts like to use urethane bushings. They are worse when it's cold outside too.

You have to make sure they are lubed up good or they will squeak.

Do polyurethane bushings squeak? Not with this stuff! - YouTube

Other people have polished the sleeve inserts. Personally I would start with the grease.
