VAG-COM yeah lol, some people refer to VW as VAG as well. I’ve had a couple GTIs and it always made me cringe a bit. Great thing about VW and Audi is the tune ability of them in OEM form though for sure.

Yeah... I was a VW nut before I started traveling super long distances.

From 2000 to 2012 I owned no 2 vehicles at the same time. All manuals. All modified. I wish I had all of them back (sometimes).

1988 GTI 8v
1989 GTI 16v
1993 Jetta 1.6D
1981 Rabbit Pickup 1.6D
1998 Jetta TDI
2001 Jetta TDI
2004 Golf TDI-PD

...and my parents had an assortment of Beetles before having us kids.

I had several friends using this in their Jeeps, Dodge, Land Rover, and Chevy vehicles, but I found little to no information about them in the Toyotas (not just the 4Runner). Of all the options on the market, I like the iDrive Throttle Controller the best for 1 simple reason - it looks good on my dash... Really. It isn't huge, it doesn't have a red or green light blaring at me. It looks like it was made for the 2014+ 4Runner's dash.

So, I reached out to them, and got a unit for my 4Runner after some very dismal towing performance in the mountains of Colorado. 3,000 miles later - I can't imagine driving without it. Even my wife loves it.
Wow, just installed mine, it feels like a completely different vehicle! with the discount code it was over $100 cheaper than the pedal commander (which I just couldn't justify $300) and I can't imagine it could be any better than the iDrive. Thanks!

it really is crazy the difference when you can tune the throttle input to your needs.

I should just let this thread die, but...

do people just not understand that all any of these devices do is reduce the response latency introduced by ECO mode by increasing the potentiometer report frequency?

Secondary functions like vehicle lock-out aside, they all do the same thing: alter the report frequency. There isn't much point in 'comparing performance' of the eight or so different throttle response modules.

PS: I can't believe there isn't an 'end rant' choice in the smilies.

Vag is not vw, it Volkswagen Auto Group. That includes audi, porche, lambo, bentley, bugati, Skoda, seat, Ducati, and a bunch of others.

...Very true, but increased throttle response does make for a more lively and entertaining driving experience. I like it.

I could have sworn there was at one point, but that might be over on Tacoma World. This is the best I could come up with while at my day job:

I'm Mark, and I'm here to help.

Just received mine in the mail today. After installing I can’t believe I waited this long to get one. It makes such a difference in everyday driving. Makes the 4Runner feel more modern. I highly recommend to anyone thinking about it. Plus it’s a lot cheaper then other well known options.

Nice!

I've been running mine for over a month now, and I've settled in on using "U-4" for most of my driving. I did put it back in standard "--" the other day just to prove to myself that I don't like it.

...also, I am NOT a fan of the Auto Mode...

Is this like the sprint booster as in, once you set it you can unplug the controller and its set? That way you don't have to mount the controller. ,

Yes, they all do the same things, but some vag's are bigger than others.

Some are tiny. It's so difficult to get it in there. It's hard to believe it's a full grown truck.

I leave mine in “U-2” and I love it!!! I don’t like the auto mode either.
