Fender Bolts rust

Please see picture. What would you guys do. I clean the rust off the paint every year. What would you recommend to stop this happening again. Buy stainless steel bolts? I was thinking of just painting the bolts with rust paint.

take them out, clean them up (or replace if they are cheap enough and then go and get some WD-40 Specialist 'long term corrosion inhibiter'. This stuff works well.

If you can find them in stainless, I would do that.

Wow. That is pathetic for a fairly new vehicle. Is the bolt head rusted or is it coming from the threads? I would coat the threads in antiseize if so.

Looks like its coming from the threads and the waster on the bolt. I cleaned the bolts and sprayed them with flat mat black. I added a rubber washer, I also did spay corrosion inhibiter. They wanted $3 a bolt here in Canada. Not paying that. I couldn't find them in Stainless steel either.

Really a shame Toyota does'nt pay attention to little details like that, and other fasteners and use some non-rust ones. I've owned several Japanese motorcycles both street and dirt and rarely had a fastener rust problem.
