Lastly, are there any other options out there that put as much, or more, light on the road as these?
So far so good. Huge improvement over gen1

Anybody..

Anybody have issues with their drl’s randomly cycling on for a few seconds even when the car is off and parked?

Morimoto says to tap into the EFI fuse in the engine bay, but that causes random drl’s cycling for me.

This is on a 2021 trd pro.

I’m wondering if tapping into the acc fuse box inside the truck would stop this?

Anybody resolved this?

Adding to the gen 2 failures. 1 month and drl LEDs are going out which I believe may be causing a random hyper flash issue while signaling.

Makes no sense, TBH. Did you not order the add-on to counter hyperflashing issues at time of ordering headlights? Did you do the install yourself or have someone else do the install?

It’s simple plug and play no add on needed. It’s a bad headlight with bad LEDs. I just hope this is a one time thing and it doesn’t happen with my replacement.

Question

On your 2021 TRD Pro, how is the light output compared to the stock Bi-LEDs in both low beam and high beam performance?

I just thought of something - why not wire up the 4Runner headlights the way the way my Range Rover operates:

- Both have adaptive hi beams
- Both have projector driving beams and halogen/reflector hi beams next to them

I was in the Range Rover the other day and was checking out what exactly happens when I pull the high beam stalk.

- Not only do the inner reflector/halogen beams illuminate for the dedicated high beams, but there is an “eyelid” in the projector beam that raises the cutoff of the driving beams to make it run wide open.

This “have your beams and shine them, too” approach sounds wonderful if it can be achieved while staying within power limitations of the wiring harness. I imagine this would mean buying those LED DRL’s from Xenon Depot and splicing over either:

1.) The wires for the high beams directly to the DRLs, to parallel those when the hi beams are triggered, or

2.) If the above would cause issues, splice a trigger off the hi beams and let it control a dedicated power supply to the new DRL hi beams.

Could this work?

I’m sure it could work but we would need to run a separate relay to power the 9005 bulb, and the wiring diagram so I know which while to tap into for the high beam trigger…. Then we would have to figure out how to manage the DRLs…

Who'd you order the headlightss from? Either way, it's covered by warranty. It sounds like you did the install yourself. I suppose it's a bit of a hassle having to swap out, waiting and installing new replacement headlights but could be worse if you didn't know how or have tools/space to do the work

Low beams are about the same if inconsequentially better, you don’t have that little dead spot hole and there is a more defined cut off.

High beams are much better.
