TRD Skid Plate vs..

My TRD Pro skid plate needs to be replaced after some abuse haha. I'm deciding if I want to replace it with the OEM TRD Pro plate or do something like RCI. Anyone have any experience with both and have an opinion?

The TRD skid is barely better than the plastic splash guards. Dump it.

Aftermarket would be great because almost all of them have an oil filter door so you don't have to drop the skid for oil changes.

TRD skid plate is garbage.

RCI, CBI, LFD etc. etc. are all much better.

RCI aluminium won't take abuse well. I mean it works, but mine's as dented and crumpled as a foil wrapper now, and has cracked and split.

I was probably going to go with their steel one since it seems like aluminum doesn't hold up all that well. Willing to add a little more weight for better protection

I've been using the RCI alum and its held up well. Some gouges and dents. I do have a steel one waiting to replace it the alum once it gets tacoed.
