What is the stock battery that came with ‘19 Pros?

Just what the title asked. I thought all Toyota’s from Japan came with the Panasonic battery stock.
Ran into someone with a ‘19 Pro and theirs has a Toyota brand battery (true start or some shit). I did not think that was a stock battery. Can anyone clarify? Their vehicle was purchased new so I am unsure why it would have a new battery unless they discharged the stock one so often/badly that it crapped out.

My 2019 ORP came with a Panasonic battery. Maybe they changed it out?

Batteries can go bad at any time, even when new (although it's rare). The True Start Toyota branded batteries are what Toyota dealerships sell through their parts departments. So likely the OE Panasonic battery had a fault and failed quickly before the vehicle was sold, and the dealership replaced it with the battery they sell.

Unlike when your real doll did not have the catlyn jenner “package” as you ordered it, no one was outraged. It was something I noticed when helping him install something and I did not want to give incorrect info. Thanks and good luck with your new “partner.”

This was my initial thought but I was doubtful. I’ve never seen one of the Panasonic batteries fail and between myself and family we have had A LOT of Toyotas.

I worked as a Master Tech at a Toyota dealer, and independent shops back in the day. Still have friends that do.

As I said it's rare, but it happens occasionally.

I don't know how large your family is, but Toyota sells about 2million vehicles a year in the US. A 99.99 % non failure rate (or 0.01 % failure rate) on batteries means dealers still replace at least 200 or so duds a year before selling the car. Not sure how many dealers are in the US, but that's probably close to 1 battery per dealer per year.

Somebody could've drained the battery by leaving something on or opened and to not lose a sale they swapped in a replacement. No one wants to buy a new vehicle with a questionable battery and most buyers wouldn't give a crap if it says Panasonic or not.
