Seems from the diagram that the red wire supplies the main power to the unit. The white wire, it says, is for the unit to know when they key is in the ACC or ON position, to force the mirrors open.
daytonaviolet, is the diagram wrong?

It could be as I don’t recall any white wire. Can you take a picture of the harness. I thought there was only 3 loose wires.
I believe the manufacturer created that diagram and it may be generic. But the harness provided does not have the white wire. Only red, blue and green.

Yup, that is what I have. The white wire is part of the harness but not one that you connect via a tap or anything. That is why I was asking where it goes. Either way, DO NOT cut this wire like I did or the mirrors will not function at all!

^ Then I think your only choice is going to be to hook up the unlock wire temporarily and go through the programming process that KingPrat showed from the wiring instruction sheet. Then you should be able to disconnect the unlock wire again.

If you want the mirrors to stay folded during unlocking, just follow the option 2

You shouldn't need to cut wires.
Looking forward to installing myself. I have a set in the basement ready to install when the weather gets warmer.
|
Thanks for this. Finally got to install mine yesterday and today after ordering back in December. It was just too cold to do the Install them.
I had a flawless install. Installed the Meso puddle lights and switch as well. Took me 4-5 hours the first day, 4 hours second day. Mostly dealing with routing wires behind the dash, and tapping into the ACC /Illum wire. (I just tapped into the windshield wiper heater switch illu wire (green) but I know the grey is the dimmer but didn’t know how to incorporate that? )
Glad to see this programming sheet as mine was in Chinese. I’ll have to play around with these programming settings.
I get strange behavior like double clicking the lock fob out of habit when I only need to do it 1x stops the folding. When I unlock the door the mirrors unfold, when I start the car they close. I have to hit the manual button to reopen. I also notice when locking the doors inside the Mirros will close . I did see on a YouTube video the green wire on the switch is suppose to tap into the blue, and blue into the white? The instructions were wrong and a YouTube said to swap those wires (the mirrors would unfold upon locking, fold during unlock, so backward)
I do get a hang up on the driver side every now and then. I probably need to take the mirror apart again and double check everything is seated correctly.
Puddle lights with the switch is amazing.
Questions. How do I tap into the dimmer control and illum using the green and grey wire?
Any advice on programming the mirrors? Instructions seem to be translated so not the best
I have the 2018 TRF orp

This guy explains the missing white wire. Basically you connect to the white wire in the door near the left. See this video.
4Runner 5th Gen - Power Side Mirrors - Wires Connection HD 1080p - YouTube
He also explains how the instructions are wrong and you need to swap the blue and green wire

Thanks for the updated PDF! I did end up figuring things out, it just took a while.

What was your solution here for the passenger mirror closing sooner than the driver? I thought it was the angle is not as much as the driver ?
Is this a setting /problem? I used Rev3

, you're totally right... the mirrors are swinging at the same degrees-per-second and even the sound of the motors are at the same "bzzzzzz" tone. I never realized that the mirrors are set at a different distance/angle.
Been enjoying the folding mirrors!

The issue of the fuse blowing only occurs when I physically connect the blue wire off the ECU to the other blue wire off the connector (For lock detection). As soon as I connect the blue wires and turn on power to my vehicle the fuse blows. Locking or unlocking the vehicle isn’t the cause of the fuse blowing.
So right now I don’t have the blue wire off the ECU hooked up at all because that’s what immediately trips my ACC fuse. I’m able to fold the mirrors manually with the switch, and unfold them by unlocking the vehicle or manually with the switch.
My vehicle locks and unlocks like normal, but since I don’t have the blue wire hooked up, my mirrors don’t fold when locked.
Hopefully that makes sense.
Thanks!

Did you resolve this? I wonder if it’s a bad switch

The solution here is to let the mirrors fold/unfold, I didn't realize that the angle was different on each mirror. Haven't had a problem at all.

No, not the fob. It’s referring to the drivers side lock and unlock buttons for the door.

Thanks. That worked. Is there a method to reset to default setting after messing with the combinations?

Started this mod today, took longer to take apart the mirrors than I hoped since I have the Meso puddle lights and Suma Mirrors with turn signals, so I had a lot more wires to deal with than stock. The biggest pain in the ass so far was separating the 2 plugs from the stock plug harness, my GOD was that a giant pain in the @$$. I was very frustrated and took a lot of cursing and swearing to get the drivers one apart, I learned a few tricks but I still fought with the passenger one as well. Holy Hell what a pain!
