SCS F5 wheels

Aware of the tire/wheel thread but I'm looking for a quick answer since my time is somewhat limited here.

Looking to purchase Stealth Custom Series F5 wheels in 17x8.5 -10mm offset (whenever they become available lol) question to anyone running these:

Any rubbing on 285's ? Really don't want to do BMC ... I'm ok with some minor trimming. Currently running full Dobinson 3'' lift with UCA's.

Also, I've read a few threads where they mention that there's a SCS thread where they announce availability. Can anyone confirm this and if so, be kind enough to send me the link ?

Thanks in advance & stay safe!

I have 17x8.5 -12 offset and I needed a BMC with 285 70 Patagonias. I have an Eibach lift with JBA UCAs.

You may get away without, I did not. Just have a good BMC done, and be done with it.

I have a brand new set waiting to go on my AG Pro. Send Vin a post or email he will send you a link when the next ship will be coming in. I bought my set F5’s before they sold out. You need to buy the day they get posted.

I did not need a BMC, just some trimming in the front of the wheel well and the mudflaps gone.

Here is my post after installation.

I'm running scs BR6 in that size and offset. I needed a BMC with 285's. Might not be necessary for street driving but you will run into trouble when you start flexing.

Thanks.

Any idea if a BMC affects insurance coverage if involved in an accident ? I can see you’ve been around the forum for a while and wondering if anyone has asked this before... Just thinking... since you are messing with the structural integrity of the vehicle.

Have your caster moved forward as far as you can, and you might get away with it, but it's a toss up. Finding an alignment guy who understands what you want and whether they will deviate from factory spec is not easy either. I have not done a BMC, and have an old school alignment tech I've gone to for years. I have a SW bumper which gives added clearance in the front. Cooper ATPs did not rub, but the STT Pros I currently have do a little bit at full lock, but it's tolerable for me. Good Luck!

That's tough one. I feel like the majority of the shops that are around my area (South Florida) are not that great. I current't have KO2's which I think they run a bit small. On those wheels since they are slightly wider they probably be slightly smaller due to the width so maybe it works out for me.

There are 2 ways to BMC. One shortens the body mount extension, the other narrows it down, but retains the length. I went the second route, as it will have less effect on the strength of the body mount. That's the kind where they weld plates on the front.

Insurance will only care if they notice, and it it makes a noticeable difference.

Just installed lift with the SCS Ray 10's (-10 offset) with 285's last week. I have a very slight amount of rub on the body mounts at full lock however as another poster mentioned that will be exaggerated with any flexing of the suspension.

I did install SPC UCA's as well and know I can get some additional caster, going to have it aligned again and see if we can improve it.

I’m running the F5s in that size and offset with 285s and had to do a BMC. I was rubbing at full lock (forward and reverse).

The easiest way to track SCS availability is to follow them on Instagram. They will post their next shipment date with the available size and offset.

Doing the BMC and trimming will definitely help with the clearance issue you’re going to encounter. It’s also peace of mind!
