Red face Feedback on 2020

Hey everybody, just traded in my 2018 SR5 for a new 2020 SR5. Would be curious to know if much has changed and improved on 2020. So far it looks like Toyo Saftey Sense features and Audio software upgrades looks promising. All comments appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Keyless start included with the premium packages. That's about it from what you already mentioned.

No CD player, but Android Auto makes for a great GPS. I'm sorry if you paid for the built-in GPS. I did, and I regret it since I use Android Auto way more. The built-in one gave me an extremely strange route one of the times I used it.

2 USB ports for the back seats, too.

You are asking this now? Shouldn't you have asked this before you traded the 2018 in for a 2020? I typically ask questions before I trade in my vehicles and make thousand dollar decisions but maybe that's just me...

It’s a newer vehicle. It offers more features. If he’s financially capable of making the move why shouldn’t he.

That's a solid point you made there - but you have to look at this from the outside. Would you not want to do a test-drive at the very least before signing paperwork? For example, as soon you drive the vehicle off the lot...regardless of how many miles you drove, the value of the vehicle itself just dropped a good amount. Imagine doing that where you make an U-turn to the dealership 1 mile away from you and asking for a full refund because you changed your mind, it's not going to happen boss.

Not shitting on OP for the decision he went here, trading it in without test-driving if that's the case but for majority of people, it's always best to test-drive and address concerns/questions prior to signing paperwork.

I'd hope this is the same way for Carvana customers who buys their vehicles online...they go to their local dealership / dealer who has a similar car (could be a different color with few options missing) and test-drive it with no intention to buy it from said dealer. This way they know what they can expect if they go ahead with the Carvana order since they'd never be able to test-drive the same vehicle until it's delivered...so their second best option is to test-drive a similar vehicle locally. That's what I'd have done if I had opted for a 4Runner via Carvana.

I don't want to sound ignorant but majority of folks including ones who's 'financially capable' of getting anything they wanted would not want to see their money go down the drain over some stupid mistake. If there are folks with this kind of mentality where they "burn" money and not feel much remorse about it, I only pray for your financial future in the long run. It's not easy making a buck in today's society so every penny counts.

OP I have a '18 Limited but from what I can see with the 2020s, not much changes beyond cosmetics and the addition of Toyota Safety Sense. I am not even sure if 2020s are equipped with LED lights...for the price I paid for my '18 Limited, LED lights should have been included!! Either way you are in good hands already if you have a 4Runner which is a reliable vehicle. That's all it matters, having a reliable vehicle that can get you anywhere with no issues assuming you keep up with regular maintenance and don't neglect the vehicle!

/end post - now off to my dealer for them to inspect my flat tire...!

He can do whatever he wants, no one is questioning that. But why do something like trade in a vehicle and then retro-actively ask what the differences are? At that point you have already made the decision and the transaction. Whatever the differences are they're his now. It's just an odd thing to ask questions AFTER the fact.

I didn't read your entire post. Your opening argument is null and void and not relevant to the case before us. The question posed, in its wording, is inquiring why the necessity to change from a vehicle that is identical in make and model that is merely two years older. The question was not pertaining to whether or not the original poster had in fact taken the newly acquired vehicle for a drive prior to purchase.

I am 100% in agreement with your point on asking post acquisition. That was not what I was responding to.

2018 purchased last year used from Enterprise and got a great deal on price and my 2008 4 Runner trade in. Trade in on 2018 and out the door price this time was great also. I guess current market on used vehicles is strong and sales are down at my dealership.
I think new driving support systems are a great upgrade . I use cruise on my long road trips and dynamic radar cruise control driving assist will be appreciated.
I did test drive and did some research and as a long time Toyota owner, over forty years,I have a great deal of confidence with their products. Mostly, just curious to hear and maybe learn from others with first hand experience.
Ultimately, Pointman’s comment was on point.
Thanks everyone for their input.

You running on low sleep bud?

Re-read OP's post and let me know how you came to the conclusion where OP is "asking why it's necessary to upgrade to a newer vehicle from a similar one but few years older". That is what I am gathering from your post. He's only asking for more information on features and nothing more. I only quoted you in hopes of presenting a side to counter your point you had made but looks like you're not willing to be open minded so I'll see myself out.

To be frank with you, you sounded very arrogant and delusional in your OP saying "dude's got money...why shouldn't he get it if he can afford it?" Needless to say I will be keeping you in my prayers in regard to your financial future if you keep up with this kind of mentality. I hope you're not advising anyone else regarding their financial matters. Worry about yourself only. It's for the best that no one else suffers from your ignorance.
