Too skinny....pinching the bead on those tires=bad wear and darting on the road. 8'' would be better 8.5 best.

That’s what I hate about the TRD wheel is only 7inch. I’m putting SCS wheels on my Pro for that reasons being 8.5 much better look and fit.

even the stock wheels on my trail were 7.5. I kind of like the bronze but the width of these and the fact EVERY OTHER 4Runner I see seems to have some iteration of this wheel led me to go with Method NV's.

Same here! Only reason I am still running them , they were installed when I bought my 4RUNNER at the dealership. I just felt that T4r has bigger problems to solve, like suspension, power. After I’ve done all that, rims is my next mod.

Flow-form is a step in the right direction in terms of strength and hopefully lighter weight, but only the barrel of the wheel gets flow-formed. The center is still cast... well the whole wheel is cast and then the barrel is treated with flow-forming. I would've been happier if they kept it cast and changed the width to 8". To Tuco's point, most of us will not challenge the limits of a cast wheel and if we do, we should be looking at forged instead because the same forces that will break a cast wheel will break a flow-formed wheel. It may even be worse because the strongest part of a flow-formed wheel is also the portion most likely to contact rocks and be subjected to side-stress. Instead of the bead area cracking or chunking off, the force will be transferred to the weaker center of the wheel and break the barrel off of the center section.

And I can't force myself to buy a narrower rim than what I already have.

My buddy manages a Discount Tire and he recommended sticking with OEM wheels on the 4Runner. He said he gets lots of 4Runer owners coming back in and asking to replace new wheels with the stock wheels. Is he an idiot?

I love the look of bronze wheels so now with the TRD option I'm getting ready to pull the trigger. Anyone have any issues with non-OEM wheels, as long as you went with a reputable company?

here's a hint: It's not the wheels....maybe it's the owners
